I've been wanting to take my daughter here for a while, so the first chilly day of the year, I did. The guy at the counter was awesome, you can tell he was a genuinely good guy. The hot chocolate was delicious and they even made my daughters "less hot" which was a nice touch. Definitely worth the drive and the money, we will be back.

So glad we stopped here! As we were driving and looking for a quick lunch, we didn’t want to get fast food and we’re so happy to have spotted this place! The atmosphere is awesome and so is the food. We got a couple sandwiches and a soup and I got the pimento cheesy cheese, a grilled cheese that was bursting with flavor and absolutely amazing. I also decided to try one of their sweets, a chocolate gummy worm, which was very good as well. The staff are also incredibly friendly and the food was to DIE for and the prices were good. Hope we can come back here soon on our next road trip!

Had a scone, which they heated, and the Squirrel Mocha. So dang good!!
They also had plenty of pastries, truffles and macarons to tempt any taste buds.
Great atmosphere and the staff was fantastic.

Unprofessional and horrible customer service!!!! I work for a local public school down the street form The Hot Chocolatier, and I have been planning a back to school breakfast for our teachers returning for the new school year. I called this establishment over a week ago to see if they would donate a carrafe of coffee and breakfast item (donut, muffin, scone) for 30 people. I spoke with the manager who said it sounded like a great opportunity to be of service in the community and she took down all the details and said that all I needed to do was email the owner so that she had the details for donation/tax deduction purposes. I emailed the owner, Wendy, and explained the event, the donation details, told her that her manager had said it was a go, but I needed to email her for buisness purposes. I never heard back, so I emailed Wendy again last week to confirm. Again, I never heard back, so I called the shop to confirm. This time, I spoke with the pastry chef who took down the details and said that she would have everything ready for me on the day of the event and to pick up at 7:45am. I explained to the pastry chef that I still had not heard back from Wendy, and she said not to worry, that she would call Wendy personally and that everything was still on. i left it with her that if there was a problem, she would call me by end of the day. This was on Friday. I showed up Tuesday AM at the agreed upon 7:45am time for pick-up, and noone knew what I was talking about. There was no donation, and no record of me ever having spoke to the manager and pastry chef. The employee called the owner, Wendy, right in front of me. She hung up the phone and told me that Wendy did not approve the order and that they would not be donating anything. I explained that I had emailed her twice and spoke with a manager and pastry chef who both confirmed that the donation was approved and I was to pick up on Tuesday at 7:45am. I also explained that I never heard back from Wendy. The employee then told me that Wendy had received my email but was too busy to respond because she was opening a new location downtown. I thought it was extremely unprofessional and rude that Wendy recieved my emails and chose not to even respond all the while her manager and pastry chef told me "yes". No one communicated with me, and no one apologized except the employee there on Tuesday morning. I had to scramble and find breakfast and coffee within 5 minutes of the event starting. Thankfully, another local business felt so bad for us that they donated breakfast and coffee on the spot. All this to say that I live in St. Elmo which is the neighborhood that The Hot Chocoletier is in. A few months ago, they made an appeal on my neighborhood facebook page asking for financial support so that the business could expand to downtown. I find it extremely hypocritical that they asked for community support, and clearly received it since they are opening the new location, yet they don't care to offer community support when they are asked- AND clearly don't think it is even worth their time to return emails or communicate with customers. I have to say they lost 30 local customers today as everyone was excited about their donation, and I had to explain what happened. I am so very disappointed in this business and especially with Wendy, the owner.

No one communicated with me, and no one apologized except the employee there on Tuesday morning. How can a local businees be so rude to the local public school just down the street? Clearly, this business is only worried about profit and doesn't have time to communicate with school teachers despite the fact that we are public servants in their community. I had to scramble and find breakfast and coffee within 5 minutes of the event starting. Thankfully, another local business felt so bad for us that they donated breakfast and coffee on the spot. LOVE this place. Obsessed with their chocolate variety, especially the frozen hot chocolate!! And their sweets are DELICIOUS.
Everyone who works here is nice and attentive. They are knowledgeable and put so much care into all their goods, even down to the last detail of putting a bow on my box of chocolates!
10/10 place!!!

We got a ham and cheese panini with a small tomato soup to go. We paired it with a crumb cake and they were delicious. The coffee was stellar as well. The service was fantastic as well. Everyone was so nice. I definitely recommend.

Today was my first time in the hot chocolate here and although is a bit of a drive from downtown Chattanooga it was worth it. I got the lavender vanilla truffle, pistachio squirrel, hazelnut heart, whiskey pecan bread pudding and I got mango dark chocolate. All the flavors were excellent and look forward the next time I make a trip through St Elmo and stopping by.
