We first encountered Uncle Larry's at a UTC game (food truck) a couple of years ago, so we wanted to try it again. I went to the E Brainerd location and placed a take-out order when I arrived. All of the staff I encountered were so nice and even gave me a sample of one of the desserts before I ordered it. I ordered two catfish plates, one order of fried green tomatoes, a slice of key lime pie, and a slice of cinnacrack cake. Oh my goodness, ALL of it was so good and so filling! The catfish filets didn't need any hot sauce or tartar, they were just wonderfully flavored. And the desserts? Amazing! We will absolutely be back.

I took my family to Uncle Larry's for lunch, and it was an excellent experience. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious, with plenty of variety to choose from. The restaurant had a warm, homey atmosphere that made us feel right at ease. Uncle Larry himself was there, ensuring that everything—from our drinks to our meals—was top-notch. His hospitality truly stood out. Without a doubt, I’ll be returning. A well-deserved 5 stars!

This is the best place to eat in town! Because of the excellent reviews we went there to try it out and ordered a good chunk of the menu so we could try it all. Outstanding food. The fish is perfect. Cannot recommend this place enough. Please go try it out.
This place was recommended for me to visit on my stay here in Chattanooga. This was my first experience. I can say that the business was super crowded and it was a bit of a wait but they took my order. I ordered a large fish plate and a piece of cake. What I received was not quality the fish was over cooked and the portions wasn’t the large that I ordered. I wasn’t impressed by this establishment.

We drive over 2 hours just to eat here. They have the best catfish I have ever tried. Service is friendly and quick. It's seems to be a local favorite. It's almost always full, but we have never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table. Cajun style catfish is the go-to meal with fries okra and white beans.

Service was phenomenal, and made me feel like I was at home. The fish all tasted pretty similar, but the way they fried them and the breading was really good. Feel's like a mom and pop shop, but the food isn't that amazing.
We always get the Cajun catfish platter. It's the best ever.!

This was our first time giving Uncle Larry’s a shot, and they really wowed us! We tried the catfish, hush puppies, pasta salad, baked beans, fried okra, and turnip greens, and every bite was perfect. The service was fast and friendly too—everyone was so helpful and accommodating. Loved the teas and lemonade and all the tasty condiments on the table. We will definitely be back!

First time at Uncle Larry’s, and it was worth the wait! We’d tried to bring family from out of town this summer, but didn’t realize seating was limited. Ever since, my 7-year-old’s been counting down the days to try their catfish, and he said it was a solid 10 out of 10—better than any dessert or candy!
I wasn’t a fan of fried green tomatoes until tonight. Uncle Larry’s are on a whole other level! We also had catfish, shrimp, and Cajun catfish—all cooked perfectly with that awesome cornmeal batter that made everything crispy and delicious.
Honestly, we’d come back even if the food wasn’t this good (but it was!) just for the staff. The best part? We got to meet Uncle Larry himself! His son was our server, and his customer service was top-notch. Can’t wait to come back—thanks for a great night, Uncle Larry’s!

The food is good, but Tera (I believe that is her name) provides horrible service. She displays a nasty attitude. Instead of greeting guest with hello, its "dine in or carryout!," all while smacking gum. I asked for extra tartar sauce, with the preface of offering to pay. Instead of handing it to me, she proceeds to place it on the counter and slides it to me with one finger. I said thank you, to no acknowledgement. In addition, Tera asked for my name when placing the order. Once my order was complete , she pointed at me and motioned for me to come to her. If you were not going to use my name when you implied that it was necessary upon ordering, then why ask for it? I didn't appreciate being pointed at and pointed to as to come here like i'm a child. Brought my concerns to the owner and he seemed to careless. All the owner said was okay. I WILL NOT BE BACK! I don't care if they don't care either. Go here for the food, if poor guest services is okay with you. If not go to Herman's, Cracker Barrel, Haven, anywhere else but here.
