The Yellow Deli Chattanooga

As others have said, this is a fundamentalist cult that makes its money off the backs of unpaid labor. I was surprised to see it recommended on here. Updated from previous review on 2025-12-24

This place is wonderful with great bites to eat. Cult thing aside, it’s a vibey place to eat. Very, very slow but sweet service. We were told 10 minute wait for a table, but it turned into 35. Then our food took over an hour to get to us. It was good food, and their teas are great.

The yellow deli has my absolute favorite atmosphere of a restaurant. It reminds me a lot of of the Shire in the hobbit so comfortable and relaxing in the food they have there is absolutely delicious fresh and homemade.

A throwback to the 70's place. Food is good. Service is spotty ( it took 15 minutes for a waiter to greet us after we were seated) and the prices were good. A bit of a challenge to park legally.

Yeah. They’re a cult. Not exactly a secret or anything based on the literature and decor but I will say, the veggie burger was fantastic. Service is awful so make sure you have plenty of time but it is worth it for a weird experience and a great burger. Would go back for sure

The veggie burger is still vegan! Yet I didn’t order that. I had the yellow submarine, had to swap the non vegan pesto for hummus. And man it was so good. The old st. Joe latte (I think it was called) was the best coffee I’ve ever had!

The Yellow Deli has a charming atmosphere, and the servers were genuinely nice and friendly, which I appreciated. However, my experience was still pretty disappointing. I ordered banana milk, but they brought me banana bread instead. I didn’t eat it and politely asked them to correct it, which they did, though it took a long time. The same issue happened with my deli pesto—it was completely forgotten, and by the time it was sorted out, everyone in my group had already finished their meals. While the staff was kind and it didn’t feel disorganized, the long wait times and mix-ups really dampened the experience. I left feeling hungry and frustrated, which overshadowed the positive aspects of the visit. Hopefully, they can improve their efficiency in the future.

I don’t care that this place is a cult. The deli pesto sandwich was the best damn food I had in Tennessee. Is the service slow? Yeah. I wouldn’t do shit if I was working for slave labor too. Is everyone geeked out of their mind? Yeah but they are nice so go in sit down and enjoy the whimsical atmosphere.

Great place for healthy meal options in Pulaski, TN.

My son and I stopped by The Yellow Deli after a trip to Children’s Hospital, and it was such a pleasant surprise! From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding—warm, welcoming, and attentive. The menu looked so good I wanted to try everything! We also got to sample their house-made teas, and each one was excellent. I only wish I had the appetite to enjoy more of what they offer! Truly a delightful experience, and you won’t be disappointed dining here and supporting such a wonderful restaurant. Highly recommend!
