The veggie burger is still vegan! Yet I didn’t order that. I had the yellow submarine, had to swap the non vegan pesto for hummus. And man it was so good. The old st. Joe latte (I think it was called) was the best coffee I’ve ever had!
The Yellow Deli has a charming atmosphere, and the servers were genuinely nice and friendly, which I appreciated. However, my experience was still pretty disappointing. I ordered banana milk, but they brought me banana bread instead. I didn’t eat it and politely asked them to correct it, which they did, though it took a long time. The same issue happened with my deli pesto—it was completely forgotten, and by the time it was sorted out, everyone in my group had already finished...
I don’t care that this place is a cult. The deli pesto sandwich was the best damn food I had in Tennessee. Is the service slow? Yeah. I wouldn’t do shit if I was working for slave labor too. Is everyone geeked out of their mind? Yeah but they are nice so go in sit down and enjoy the whimsical atmosphere.
