I was extremely disappointed. I read all the reviews with people claiming how they enjoyed dining at Spoony's. My experience was completely opposite. Ordered one Catfish dinner and one fish dinner. ( I was told the fish dinner was Whiting fish ) The fish dinner smelled fishy. And it also tasted fishy. Was not able to eat the fish. The catfish was mediocre at best. Didn't even know we received our coleslaw until we were done. ( which didn't take long ) The slaw was hidden underneath the tinfoil, flattened. Unfortunately I'm still looking for a good fish dinner in Cleveland, Tennessee.

I was in town for a project and Spoonys was recommended to me. I'm so glad I came on a day they were open. I was told to get the catfish platter, so I did and rounded it off with onion rings and cole slaw. The cornmeal crust on the catfish was crispy and seasoned just right. The fish was tender and one of the best catfish I ever had. The onion rings were battered and stayed crunchy. The hush puppies were a nice accompaniment. I enjoyed the iced tea sweetened with the pineapple juice.
Definitely recommend if you're in the area. Just make sure they are open the day you're wanting to give them a try. If I get a chance to come back to Cleveland, Spoonys will be on my list of stops.

A+ hush puppies, excellent fish. Unique Pineapple Tea. Southern soul food first Sunday each month. Music faintly plays Motown hits from the late 50s and 60s. Skip the chains and eat here.

1st time going just the other day had a chicken Philly which I had never heard of and some fries it was so good I took the other half of my sandwich and had it for breakfast the next day will be going back on a regular to try some of everything.....
Service wasn't very good but the food was. I wish the coleslaw came in bigger portions.

Our first time ordering ........ Food was great! We ordered for the Super Bowl 20 wings, pull pork plate, phili sandwich, chicken finger plate, catfish plate, and fried green tomatoes. The food was incredible, great flavors, fresh, affordable prices, and great customer service. The young man who took my order was also serving tables and helping in the back preparing food. He had incredible work ethic and made sure everyone was taken care of at all times. We will be back!

Arrived at 6:35 was one other customer in the building about 5 minutes later waitress comes over lays menu down walks away. She proceeded to clean empty booths for 15 minutes then comes back and says sorry grill is closed. If you close at 6:30 change sign on the door and lock it at 6:30. Seemed like she was avoiding come over till she could tell us grill was closed. Have been getting lunch there once a week. But will not return due to this poor customer service.

Arrived at 6:35 waitress brought menu about 6:40 came back to table at 6:55 said we have already closed the grill. If they didn’t want the business should have told us and we are closed when we came in. Instead of waiting 20 minutes and giving us menu if grill was already closed. Will not be back
