So this was my first time here and I got the steak and shrimp burrito I get home after working 10 hours and open up a burrito that has one piece of shrimp in it they took the shrimp cut it up and made two pieces I called and the manager was basically like oh well bring it back and we will give your money back for the burrito I also got the barria Ramon bowl it was ok but very greasy all together I spent 31 dollars I’ll stick with the Mexican place I always eat that way I know the food will be good. But I will never be back and they need to do better about the customer service they provide cause it was terrible

Cute little spot! This place is so cute inside, and the food does not disappoint. I ordered a torta de jamón, ham sandwich, and it was delicious! My niece got a burrito and said it was so good too. The salsas provided 💯! My favorite was the red one. Cant wait to try other items from the menu next time!

Most delicious verde salsa I’ve had in a very long time. Everything was delicious. I do hope they get a drink machine at some point but otherwise my party and I were extremely satisfied. They also have live plants on the tables and the big windows make the place feel open and refreshing. 100% will be back

I ordered a steak taco, which was so greasy that the tortilla was unable to hold together. Near thirty dollars for a total of four steak tacos and two drinks. If the food is good, then I could deal with the cost. When the food is not good, I can not justify spending that crazy amount.
Response to owner response.
I have had authentic tacos usually once a week. I know there is oil involved with the tortilla. Never have I had one drowning in so much that the tortilla fell apart. And for your response to say I didn't pay what I paid is unbelievable. Four tacos, one bottle beer, one horchata. The total paid was $28, and some change and a $5.00 tip to the lady. Now, what should I been charged? Since you are saying I couldn't have paid what I paid, suppose I was overcharged unknowingly.
Kid-friendliness: It's a Mexican restaurant with a kids menu.

Tacos El Don Mexican Kitchen is a hidden gem for those who appreciate authentic Mexican cuisine. This small restaurant offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The food is simply fantastic – every dish I've tried has been bursting with flavor and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The tacos are a standout, but their entire menu is worth exploring.
The staff at Tacos El Don are always friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. You can tell they take pride in their work and genuinely care about their customers. The service is quick and efficient, even during busy times.
However, I have to mention the price. For two people, it's easy to spend around $60 for two meals and a good drink each, which is quite steep for a casual dining experience. This is the main reason I don't visit as often as I'd like. While the food quality justifies the cost to some extent, it might not be within everyone's budget for frequent visits.
Despite the high prices, I still recommend Tacos El Don Mexican Kitchen. The quality of the food and the overall dining experience make it worth a visit. If you haven't been, I encourage you to check out their menu and give it a try. It's a delightful spot for anyone who loves great Mexican food, and it's definitely a treat for the taste buds!
Parking: The location is placed at the corner of a crowded street so to find parking in the main area is actually difficult if there are already people there. From the looks of it, there are tables to maybe take 15 comfortable customers. No more than that.

Great food and friendly service. Stopped in for a good burrito to go. Next time I will sit down and eat.
As a Mexican American who grew up on Mexican food (Californian&New Mexican) I feel I can definitely say this is as close to Authentic Mexican as you can get in Cleveland and probably most of Tennessee. I've been to almost every "Mexican" restaurant in Cleveland and one thing they all have in common is they ALL taste the same, BLAND. Salt seems to be the main spice. Tacos El Don food has alot of flavor and spices. They really do cater to the people who want that authentic taste. Now that they are a actual restaurant their menu has expanded. I just finished my Chilaquiles Birria from their brunch menu and all I can say is YUMYUMYUM!!!!

We tried Tacos El Don for the first time tonight and we really have nothing 'bad' to say--the tacos were packed full of flavor and the tortilla shells were so so good. The server was more than friendly and sociable as well which was appreciated.
The only two things that lead me to knock a star off is:
1.) Our water wasn't served with ice, so it wasn't super cold which I would have preferred. There are other drink options from the refrigerated cooler so that can be easily circumvented.
2.) The quantity of chips and salsa don't compare to most, if not all other latin/mexican based food places in Cleveland.
Overall I highly recommend Tacos El Don because their tacos are great and the two things I pointed out can be easily fixed in the future.
