Love this place

This small restaurant was super busy during lunch. Hubby and I had a short wait for a table. The service was great. I had The Reuben and it was really good. Not soggy like in some other places. I could only eat half and got a carryout container for the other half, which I ate for dinner that night after reheating it in the oven in foil. It tasted just as fresh as the first half and was not soggy, even after several hours.
But while in the restaurant, I observed how it ran like a well-oiled machine. Mature and responsible adults doing their jobs, effortlessly multitasking to make their whole system work. It was amazing to see. No one was standing idly around or slacking, from the hostess to the busser and they were all nice, respectful and busy, with the occasional smile. Even their pickup service was busy.
I highly commend the manager of The Silver Caboose for their management/operation skills.

Great place and great food

Stopped in for a veggie plate lunch and WOW! was it delicious! I had no room for dessert, but I'll try it next time!

The price per meal is outrageous for a vegetable plate. First, it is only 3 vegetables in a very small dish and each vegetable cost $4.00. Ridiculous.

This was by far and above an amazing experience. The only negative I could say is the wait time was crazy. Which just means that’s how popular this place is and they don’t have a lot of seating options available. They had a lot of elderly clientele and so every time wed get a seat to sit and wait someone else would come in and wed give up our seats so they could sit. But standing you are in everyone’s way. So that was uncomfortable. And some of the carpet and equipment around looked like it’s had a lot of wear and tear so could use some attention given the high amount of traffic this place sees.

But the decor, the feel, the food, the staff were all a 5 star experience. We all tried something different and it all was amazing. Our server was so personable and even joked and laughed with us. The only food items we didn’t like were their pies. We all got something different and none of those were good. But everything else was delicious!! I would highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back!! (Also walk around the area if you have time. It’s such a nice town)

What a horrible disappointment! I bought the frozen chicken and dressing and green beans for dinner. After cooking, the chicken and dressing was awful. Not sure the chicken was real, the gravy was like pudding/jello and the dressing had no taste. I could have saved $7.00 by opening a can of green beans because that’s what they tasted like. We didn’t eat any of it after one bite. I would not recommend frozen or otherwise meals from Silver Caboose. Never again. I do not recommend.

This is one of my fave places to eat! As always, service was friendly and perfect. My tea glass was never empty! My first time having the fried catfish, and I will definitely be back! Some of the best I've ever eaten, as were the hush puppies! As always, the chocolate chess pie was a yummy way to end the meal. We had a very short wait for our table, and even though the place was packed, our food came out quickly and we were checked on frequently and never lacked for anything! Just a great place to go!!
