I've been a big fan of Big Tony's ever since they opened their doors. It's the only place in Cookeville to get Authentic New York Style Pizza. The prices are reasonable, service fantastic and the food spectacular! There's a reason why they were rated #1 in 2023!
We have been here many times since moving to cookeville. This is the only place in town I personally know of where you can get a good New York style pizza. We’ve never had a bad meal here. Inside service can be slow if dining here, but if they aren’t busy it’s fine. Take out is always 20 minutes or less, and the pizza is great. A small family owned business who supports the community with free meals for those in need!

The girl answering the phones that took my order needs some serious customer service training! After calling for delivery I inquired about a minimum for delivery and the girl says no but doesn’t mention that delivery is $6.50. I proceed with ordering a 10” gluten free pizza which is 10 plus .65 for toppings. Then the girl tells me delivery is $6.50 which takes me aback a bit since my pizza alone is only like, $12. Because I had looked for the business on DoorDash, I asked the girl why they don’t just use DoorDash for deliveries. She then starts saying she doesn’t think she should place the order for me because I’m being inappropriate/ offensive by asking questions. I tell her I’m sorry but when she told me the delivery fee it just caught me off guard, then she replied by telling me she doesn’t want to argue on the phone and won’t place my order. We go back and forth with me just trying to explain myself and her threatening not to place my order, like 2-3 times. I finally say very loudly and clearly that I want my pizza and I’m giving her my card number and I finally manage to order the pizza. Then she goes back to the nice friendly voice she had initially answered the phone with and tells me to have a blessed day. No joke, I felt like we were having two different conversations. I’ve worked in customer service and customers are always allowed to ask questions without being criticized for doing so someone needs to teach this girl how to provide decent customer service. You don’t attack people that call your business to do business with you, because you asked a reasonable question about an expensive delivery free. Furthermore I had wanted to get pizza from here because somebody said it was the best gluten-free pizza in town and the pictures looked good but my pizza was not that good. Dominos gluten free crust is better, this is one of those times that trying to experience the local small businesses and what they have to offer, went really bad.
