We were a family of 7 and all loved our meals. We have eaten here before when we came to Cookeville to visit family and they didn't disappoint. My New York strip steak was incredible. Gretchen is a fantastic server. Great job. See you the next time we are in town.

My husband ordered the cheese steak, and he was less than impressed. The menu described the steak as shaved, but it was in chunks. I ordered a Cajun chicken stuffed with sausage with a sauce and a side if mushrooms. The mushrooms were not edible. They were old and not brought to temperature. This was the last chance for CH from us.

The Cheese stick roulette is very good, and fun. Chicken was a tad dry, but was flavored as described. My steak was a perfect medium rare. Couldn't ask for more when it comes to the doneness of my steak, however was over seasoned with a strong soy sauce flavor that was a bit overpowering. The lobster tail was perfection! The service was great, the atmosphere was nice and cozy, perfect for a date night, no real complaints.

Food was terrible.. had heard great things about Char, but we were so highly disappointed… our poor waitress could not get it together either. I could understand if it was busy but it wasn’t.. she took my husband’s drink to refill, and never brought it back, I finally had to flag her down 20 minutes later to get it back. Then the same with the check. Prime rib was terrible the au ju tasted like teriyaki beef jerky, and it was all flabby fat scraps. My husband couldn’t even finish his steak because it was so awful. It was charred, not in a good way on the outside and the seasoning was horrible. Very sad we WASTED $70+ here.. we will never be back.

Had the 1 pound ribeye entree and it's the best steak I've ate in 40 years, no exaggerating. The onion rings were HUGE and the broccoli had a grill taste to it although it hadn't been grilled, which was a nice touch. I ordered medium well and the grill cook did not disappoint.Nice restaurant , and worth the money. There's also a family table up on a platform which would be great for a big family.
