The best Mexican food in Cookeville hands down. I've lived in California, Texas, vacation to Mexico regularly. If you're in the area, this is your best choice by far. I'm a sucker for good al pastor. The kids love shopping in the market after dinner.

[English at the bottom]On my recent visit to this Hispanic restaurant, I was pleasantly impressed with the flavor and quality of their carnitas sopes. The price was very reasonable, especially considering the generous portion size. The sopes were full of juicy carnitas, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The texture of the dough was soft and spongy. Every bite was an explosion of authentic Mexican flavors. In addition to the excellent flavor, I loved the presentation of the dish. The sopes were decorated with a colorful slice of tomato and a generous portion of shredded lettuce. The final touch was a sprinkle of crumbled fresh cheese, which added a perfect creaminess and a touch of saltiness.Without a doubt, this restaurant has become one of my favorites to enjoy authentic carnitas sopes. The combination of flavors, the quality of the ingredients and the generosity of the portions make it worth every penny. I highly recommend this dish to all Mexican food lovers![English]On my recent visit to this Hispanic restaurant, I was pleasantly impressed with the flavor and quality of their carnitas sopes. We checked out the market today. It was great finding items we haven't seen since leaving Tucson a few years ago, and missed. The place is clean and has a nice selection of goods.By the way, if you've never had a Coke from Mexico (glass bottle, real sugar), go get one!

I FOUND THE HIDDEN GEM! Everyone in TN will tell you there is no "real" Mexican food in TN. Well, off the beaten path I stumbled onto this gem, simply by driving by with the window down. It smelled so good, obit I couldn't locate where the smell was coming from, but it reminded me of CA Mexican restaurants. I litterally drove around and saw in tucked away. It doesn't have very good signage, the place was close to empty and all I can say is the food was no doubt the real deal. Authentic, in the few moths I've been here we have yet to find that authentic taqueria style food. I had the fajitas Tejanas which was a combo of asada, pollo and shrimp and chorizo. Portions were great, had plenty to take home too. Salsa was good too one was hot, almost a bit too much for me and that's great too. If anyone is looking for good Mexican food, you can't go wrong.

I feel foolish of not recommending this market to anyone, it doesnt have enough credit, it is a weekly spot with a great selection items and more, I would give five stars to the restaurant however, my frugal self likes to stay in still have not enjoyed that part. But trust this I am looking forward to it! Also I like too add their baked goods that they make 10/10 but hurry they go fast.

Being from Arizona, authentic Mexican food was the toughest to find here.... until El Milagro. Food is always great and the market reminds me of the carnicerias back home. Definitely the best in

I forgot to take pictures but the food was really good. I had the papas appetizer. It's kinda like a Carne Asada fries. But the fries are soggy. My husband loves soggy fries but I prefer them to be crispy. And then my husband had the chimichangas. They were good. The chimichangas were fried and crispy. They also have green salsa that I put on everything...

A really good place to eat. Before finding out about this restaurant, I was driving to McMinnville which has authentic Mexican food that is hard to find throughout the state of Tennessee. This place is the closest that I have eaten at in Tennessee that reminds me of when I left the communist state of California. Good food and good service.

Home made rice, beans, and tortillas say what!!!?? Yes, please! I finally had the closest to California Mexican food. My daughter had the Chile Verde. She likes it very hot, so she just added their table. Chile Verde salsa to spice it up as the Verde wasn't very spicy. Although perfect for my liking as I don't do hot. I had the carniatas, and my husband had the fajitas chicken and a Carne asada street taco with homemade tortilla!!All the Tortillas with the meals came with homemade. You won't be disappointed.

It’s my go to for Mexican food and foodstuffs for cooking as well. The prices are very fair and the food is outstanding. I have brought many of my friends here for lunches. And I will continue to do so in the future.I give it a thumbs upWheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs, so easy access

A true gem with fresh, tasty and authentic Mexican food. We had tacos, enchilada and a special soup and everything was delicious For a southern Californian like me finding this place is a blessing. Not only for the restaurant food quality and friendly staff but having a market as well and a butcher on site is s plus. I was able to find salsas, vegetables, tortillas, cheeses and butcher cuts specific to the culture. We’ll be back on weekends to have the menudo!
