Great service Great food price better than fast food if you haven't tried it your missing out

I’ve been to Grandma’s Pancake House in Cookeville, TN several times and never had an issue—until today. I ordered my usual: pancakes with a side of eggs and potatoes. Everything was fine until I took a bite of my pancake and heard a crunch. When I checked, I found several pieces of eggshell baked into the pancake. It was honestly disgusting and completely ruined my appetite.

I let my waitress know, expecting at least an apology or for her to offer a replacement or a discount. Instead, she just asked, “Did you choke on it?” That was it—no apology, no solution, and no concern for the fact that I had been eating eggshells.

I used to like this place because of the positive reviews, but after this experience, I won’t be going back. I don’t recommend it to anyone unless you’re just looking for something cheap—but remember, you get what you pay for when it comes to food quality and cleanliness. Very disappointed.

Delicious food and service was quick and efficient!! Bacon was great! Pancakes were included with my vegetarian omelet!! Waiter was very friendly! We will return!!

I never eat omelettes but my friend got one of Grandma's and now these are the only ones I will eat. Pancakes are also perfectly salty and not overly sweet like many places so I can eat them plain. The home fries are also some of the best I've had. Will return to Grandma's every chance I get

I have never had an omelet so flavorful or big with a breakfast. The omelet was cooked to perfection and the pancakes were amazing. This is a MUST EAT!!!!!

We love love love this place. It is so cheap for the amount of quality food they give you. Servers are always lovely. Cannot recommend enough.

The owner is an absolute rude and didn't even consider that I have been a faithful customer for the past 6 years. Be careful if you disagree or have a problem she will lie and treat you bad!

My family has lived in Cookeville for 6 years and my wife and I frequent Grandma's pancake house often. (For a breakfast date). After today, that will never happen again. My wife found a hair in her potatoes and instead of owning it and showing any kind of empathy, the owner decided that it was my wife's hair and she shouldn't have to make it better. When my wife asked her what she wanted her to do, the owner told her to admit that it was her hair. WOW!!!! (Remember we frequent the restaurant often) The owner has the audacity to tell the other customers that my wife complains all the time. Believe me, if she did complain as much as the bruja said she did, we would have stopped coming long ago. We loved the atmosphere and the service, we even had a favorite booth, that we almost always sat at. We will miss the booth, but we won't miss the owner, she is a bitter Latina woman that has no empathy for her customers. If they were an accredited business with the BBB, I would file a complaint. I truly hope no one else has this dilemma with the vieja that owns the place.
M&M cafe is our new go to. Small but amazing.

Never a bad meal or service! Always great and the crepes are wonderful!! Truly the best pancakes in the world!

Not fancy, excellent food, reasonable prices, and attentive service. Parking lot can be difficult for first-timers, I suggest backing into the parking spots.
