Tried hibachi in a lot of places and this place is one of the best. Their food and sauce is consistently top tier. The staff, Tony and Fong, are also very kind, helpful and passionate about what they do. We recommend Little Kobe to everyone in Cookeville.

The service was excellent. They treated us extremely well and the food was good. The interior of the restaurant was a bit worn though.

Stopped by while commuting home and craving sushi. The roll was delicious and all the food I ordered was a decent price. I splurged on some edamame, a beef dish and a roll.
The edamame was plain, just needed a bit of salt. The beef dish was perfect as is and came with a large amount of rice as well. The sushi roll was cheap and came out perfect with some ginger.
I can't understand how they were not busy.

This is a decent place. I was with 2 other associates, and they thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Now, as I am a picky eater, I thought my meal was OK. I would go back, but I'd ask more questions on what comes with the meal.

It's expensive, but I personally think it's worth it. I enjoyed the food and worker was really nice. :)

This little place is amazing. I'm a trucker and I stopped in before grocery shopping. The place was spotlessly clean, the server was attentive, and the food was great. They give you large portions. I recommend the Kobe roll. I also had the chef's platter which has scallops, shrimp, and lobster. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely be stopping by.

Do not eat here, period!

Our family had a late lunch here and we should have adhered to the reviews on food quality. The place was also completely empty and void of customers at 2 in the afternoon. We are a family of 6: 3 adults and 3 kids. We were greeted very brusquely, handed menus at the door and told to sit. We then waited another 10min for service.

We ordered the Giesha special with chicken and steak, a chicken hibachi and chicken nuggets and fries. The hibachi dinner comes with soup, salad and your choice of rice and veggies. They did not have noodles, only rice (odd). First off, the soup had a weird taste to it and was salty. When we asked what or how ot was made, the kept waffling between chicken stock and just mushrooms. The salad was brown and the yum yum sauce on it was questionable. This should have been an indicator of what’s to come.

They told us the chicken nuggets was just chicken tjey cut up and they dip in batter and fry for the kids. Ok, no biggy, however that’s odd as most places actually have nuggets for kids as they can be picky. They bring out the food: the veggies are mostly onions with very little squash, mushrooms, broccoli or anything else. The rice had no veggies in it, other than carrots and very little egg was added.

Now, the meat… when it was brought out it looked fine. However when we started to eat: the chicken was very stringy and had a very distinct flavor like it had turned or was about to turn and like a flower ? taste to it. The steak, did not taste right at all and was almost rancid. We told the kids to stop eating and we informed the cook and the waiter: the cooks reply “this is fresh, very fresh and no issues before. I’ve been cooking this a long time.”

We got up, paid and left. Now we’re watching our kids closely for food poisoning. The food quality and meat and will be reported to the Health Inspector. This is not acceptable for a place to allow this or even serve this food to people.

My family has eaten at Little Kobe many, many times over the years.

It used to be my favorite place to eat.

But unfortunately something has changed. We recently fed a family of 5 with a takeout order including sushi. Every single member of my family independently commented that their food was not good. 3/5 meals ended up back in the fridge with them eating something else from the house.(I finished mine because I was hungry and need to fill my belly, but it was far from what it used to be). We split up and were basically eating in different areas of the house but when we came back together, we all agreed. It just wasn't good. I feel like I will not be back, and will go elsewhere for my Japanese food fix.
