What a great bar!!!I’m not sure what was better… the food, the cocktails or the service. The staff was so kind, my drink was delicious and the food was amazing!

What a gem and dog friendly too. The food and drinks were top notch. We came with our 3 cocker spaniels and were welcomed right in. Matthew makes a mean Cosmo martini too!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — Incredible Experience!

We had such an amazing time here! The food was absolutely delicious — every dish came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. But what truly made the experience unforgettable were Ryan and Carolyn.

Ryan is hands-down one of the best bartenders we’ve ever met. His drinks were perfectly made, and he’s got that rare mix of personality, skill, and great conversation that makes you want to keep coming back.

And Carolyn? An absolute gem. She was warm, attentive, and on top of everything without ever making us feel rushed. She made the whole night feel effortless and welcoming.

Between the great food, the incredible service, and the genuine hospitality from Ryan and Carolyn, this place has definitely become a new favorite. Highly recommend!

Not to mention GARY THE GOOSE WAS PERFECT AND SO CUTE!!!!

If I could give this place extra stars, I would. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted not just by the friendliest staff on the planet, but by the most charming resident goose you’ll ever meet. Yes, a goose. A perfect, feathered ambassador who somehow makes the whole restaurant feel like a tiny pocket of magic.

The team here makes you feel like an old friend returning home. They’re attentive without hovering, upbeat without being over the top, and genuinely hilarious, & passionate about what they serve. Every dish arrives with the kind of care that tells you someone in the back loves what they do. Especially Ryan & Carolyn - THE BEST BARTENDERS EVER!!!!

Between the unforgettable food, the stellar service, and the legendary goose who should honestly have its own fan club, this place is an experience I’ll be talking about for a long time. Absolutely worth the visit.

Our second time at The Waterfront Bar and it was another great experience. Right on the river, dog-friendly, great food and great service. The live music was on point too. Shout out to Nathan Parris.

I was with a group of 12 people and everyone was disappointed with their food. Several of us sent food back as it arrived cold or smothered in grease. I ordered the fish of the day, trout. The trout and mashed potatoes were cold. I asked the server to bring me food that was hot. A few minutes later I received the same fish a little warm and the potatoes still cold. At that point I did not want to send meal back because obviously I was not going to get a hot meal and others at the table received repeated subpar food. A couple of people refused to pay and left restaurant. I wanted to speak to a manager but no one responded to request. Against my better judgement I paid for the meal and left. Being in a area where people of color are not a part of the residential makeup and the political climate we currently live in being as it is, it was probably not in my best interests to make a scene. The server was adequate and I hope she enjoyed her generous tip as the food was awful!!!

I wouldn’t order the pulled pork sandwich again. The pork was tough; more chewy than you’d expect for pulled pork. But the French Dip sandwich and the French onion soup got great reviews from my friends who ate those dishes. It’s a short walk from the blue ridge train ride, about 7 minutes. The restaurant handed a coupon to everyone when they exited the train for one free non-alcoholic beverage.

Nice view of the river from the outdoor seating. And they have plastic coverings in case it’s raining or to keep the heat in on the deck.

Love this place, the people and the food. It's a bit expensive, even during happy hour. But Gary the White Fronted Goose who hangs out there made it worth it! What a great spot to chill by the river with live music, good food and drinks. The mozzarella sticks and meatballs are drool worthy! They are also dog-friendly!
