Happened to be in Covington and was checking restaurants near by and saw Pappy and Jimmy's. Same owner as the one that was in Memphis, but not seafood anymore, no lobsters in a tank. It's now Southern Home Cooking. Service was great, food was great. A real diamond in the rough if you're looking for some good Southern Food.

This was my first time having dinner here. It was a lot of food and delicious! I had the country fried steak with white gravy, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, Mac and cheese and a delicious dinner roll. I wanted to try the peach cobbler that the friendly other diners recommended, but I couldn't even eat all my food and had to get a to go box. I'll try it next time with coffee. I highly recommend trying this place! I'll be back for sure. Five stars for a job well done ?

We went due to other reviews, which we regret. We don't normally eat large meals, that being said, we both left there hungry. We both got Hamburger steak, it was about 3" across and maybe 1/2" thick, aprox 2 TBS green beans & cabbage ( small bowl wasn't 1/2 full), & 1 mini cornbread muffin- kind of hard. Everything tasted pretty good. Server was very nice but not experienced enough to navigate the crowd. We got there about 5:00 and they were 75% full.

Holy I cannot EXPRESS how good this restaurant is. I went with me and my family and we were all STUFFED!!!!! The staff were really nice and the food was AMAZING!!! Will definitely come here again!

This is our favorite place to eat a country meal. Made fresh daily. The ranch dressing is homemade. Everything is homemade. Friendly family restaurant. If you haven't been there, at least try it.
