I don’t know how to feel about this place. The food is fine, but I know a lot of it comes out of a can. The interior is a bit janky, but that kind of adds to the experience. The staff is always great, and the food is never bad.
Happened to be in Covington and was checking restaurants near by and saw Pappy and Jimmy's. Same owner as the one that was in Memphis, but not seafood anymore, no lobsters in a tank. It's now Southern Home Cooking. Service was great, food was great. A real diamond in the rough if you're looking for some good Southern Food.
This was my first time having dinner here. It was a lot of food and delicious! I had the country fried steak with white gravy, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, Mac and cheese and a delicious dinner roll. I wanted to try the peach cobbler that the friendly other diners recommended, but I couldn't even eat all my food and had to get a to go box. I'll try it next time with coffee. I highly recommend trying this place! I'll be back for sure. Five stars for a job well...
