Delightful authentic Cuban cuisine. Cozy atmosphere. Very attentive and knowledgeable server. We had Cuban sandwich with yuca root fries, which have no potato but taste very similar. Also had empanadas which were pastries filled with Piccadilly meat mixture. A really nice change from burgers. Waitress also told us about a great sounding Sunday buffet which we will surely try out.

I'm visiting from out of town. Our party was very excited for the red snapper but so was the party before us and it was sold out. Everything we ate was authentic and delicious. Coming from Florida I was absolutely impressed with the quality. We'll for sure visit again.

A coworker and I went here to eat before work we waited 45+ minutes for our food. She had the pork bowl and I had the pork sandwich. When it finally arrived it was cold after messing up on my order. Definitely not worth almost $30. Now we’re sick as dogs. If I could I would give zero stars. Will not be back nor would I ever recommend this place to anyone!

Found this authentic Cuban restaurant when we stayed at Fairfield Glade (near Crossville Tn) last year. Couldn't wait to go back this year for another authentic Cuban sandwich! Fantastic food and service from Tatiana.

I was very disappointed with our dinner. Waited 45 minutes for the salad to come, no choice of dressing what we got was basically olive oil. When we finally got our food it was cold. The plates it was served on must have been kept in the refrigerator. Besides being cold it was pretty much tasteless. Will not be returning. By the way my name is not sweetie or honey.

First, did not know that Sunday is "buffet only". Sunday hours are 11-3, we were there just before 2pm for late lunch. Buffet was mostly empty of food, and what food items were there were room temp to cold. At $19 per person, very over-priced for what is offered land what you get. If you are open until 3 pm, you should have hot fresh food available until that time. This was second visit in two years, and cannot believe that "3rd time will be the charm". Cannot recommend, at least for the Sunday buffet.

This is my second time trying to get in this place and they have all these funky hours in the website says they close at 8 but we got there at 6:45 and the girl said they just closed with an attitudeWhen I told her they should update their hours on the website she said it was t up to them because they had pay google to do that and they didn’t wanna pay to hours updated.. this place is a joke don’t waste your time trying come here.

Finally was able to experience Abuela's Cuban meal today.Wow! The rice and black beans bowl was awesome. It included a generous helping of yellow rice, black beans, fried plantain, and (for a couple of bucks extra) very tasty shrimp. I look forward to eating there again very soon, and recommend this restaurant.

Tried Abuela's just before the New Year. I ordered a carryout over the phone. Was a Cubano sandwich with Yucca Fries upgrade. Stated it would be about 15 mins. It ended up being closer to 30 mins. They have a comfortable seating area to wait. NOTE: They include a gratuity with carryout orders. I didn't notice the sign right away and went to tip 20% however; I looked over and I believe it said 15% already included so I just tipped the difference. The sandwich was really good and the yucca fries aren't too bad. The dipping sauce is what makes them. Next time, I'll ask for extra because it was long gone before all the fries were. Nice atmosphere inside and friendly staff. All and all, I would eat there when in town again.

NOTE THAT THIS RESTAURANT HAS RECENTLY MOVED TO THE CROSSVILLE OUTLET MALL OFF GENESIS ROAD. We were seated about 5 minutes after arrival but were not waited on for drinks for another 10 minutes. 10 minutes after receiving our drinks, our order was taken. Total time then to receive our order was 1 hour 5 minutes. The sandwich order was basically tasteless and the Cuban bread dried out. This was on an early Sunday afternoon when there normally is a buffet, but this Sunday was off the sandwich menu only. I have been told by others that the Sunday buffet was good, thus the reason for our first visit there, but it had been discontinued for two months beginning on our visit. There was only one server for the entire restaurant, one cook in the kitchen, and one cashier/receptionist. Additionally, one fry station was out of order. Not a good experience and not one to repeat.

A different approach in a quiet town. So first, this is wayyy out of the way simply by being in a largely abandoned shopping mall that is frankly, a little a creepy. The service is very slow, but very friendly and helpful. Now, the food. The food is fresh and authentic, some of the most excellent Cuban fare I’ve had. The yucca fries are the crispiest and the empanadas are piping hot and made fresh. While I found the Cuban a bit heavy on mustard, everything was fantastic. I also recommend the plantains. If you can see past the weird shopping mall, and don’t mind a little wait (they may have been understaffed), give this restaurant a try!

Be prepared to take your time and enjoy your meal and have a nice relaxing time with your friends and family. This isn't fast food, good food takes time. Had an awesome experience with friends and family last night, a really upbeat lady waited on our table and was very attentive and didn't hover, made sure we had our drinks topped off, checked back regularly to see if we needed anything, made good recommendations, but otherwise left us to visit. I had my favorite, the red snapper with a side of plantains, delish! The rest of my party each enjoyed their Arroz Imperial. We started with tostones, which are pretty good and have a nice dipping sauce. My husband noted the hibiscus tea, while still good, didn't seem as flavorful as in the past. My café con leche was quite good. We typically dine here before our trips to the Playhouse and look forward to visiting again!

A truly hidden gem. The food and service are absolutely fantastic fresh and truly Cuban food!! Four of us that ate there could not Rave enough about how wonderful everything was. It's right behind Bucky's and in a little strange location but believe me it is worth your trip

Quiet and unassuming in a mostly empty mall. I’m so very happy we tried it!! There was only one server, but she was amazing. I believe her name was Carly. The yucca fries are a must!! Crisp and cooked to perfection! There was also corn fritters with guava butter?? It did take some time (the menu even warns you) but it was so worth the wait! Love the atmosphere!
