I mean, it's a seafood restaurant in Tennessee.
Really hard to get seafood when your inland but this place will so help you get your fix at least till you get to the ocean. Worth the drive and give it a try. Get there early its a good size place but may have a small wait time.
The food was very good for the price. The fried shrimp was excellent. The scallops were surprisingly good as well. I was not a fan of the London Cod Fish. My wife got the steak tips and grilled ship and she thoroughly enjoyed both. The calamari wasn't bad (especially for the price). The service was exceptional.
OVERALL IMPRESSED… I stopped at truck stop across the street & wanted a good meal. Decided to do a to go order since the wait was 40mins. Ordered 3 items broiled plate which included tilapia, jumbo shrimp & scallops. It also came with a salad or coleslaw, 1 side which I had baked potato & hush puppies. Food was excellent & nicely seasoned! The only reason not given 5 stars due to jumbo shrimp was not jumbo & hush puppies was soggy from the juice from the broiled platter. Next time put aluminum foil around them. Overall price was reasonable, friendly host & food better than anything around! I’ll definitely will try again!
Great food and great service. Crab and Pops is a delicious entree.
Random find on our road trip to Baton Rouge. We knew this place would be good when we pulled into the parking lot and saw all the cars and people waiting outside. We only had to wait 15 minutes. Good service. The coconut shrimp were good. I had the broiled scallops. The hush puppies were hot and fresh.
If you looking for a casual place with good food, large portions at an affordable price this is the place for you. You will not be met with alot of pretentiousness or the fanciest decor but the our server Jesus was prompt, friendly and accommodating which all makes for a great experience. This place reminds me alot of the Mom and Pop places down in the Panhandle of Florida. I'm glad to say we will definitely be back.
We have been going here for many years. The food is excellent. HOWEVER, excellent food does not at anytime allow dishonor and abuse to the consumer and customer. My elderly mother of 85 just got out of the hospital from pneumonia not long ago. She wanted the Captain's Galley fish dinner. I took her. When we got there they had a lobby full of standing people waiting to be seated. The young school girl at the counter asked me how many and told me that it would be a 30 to 40 minute wait and that we would have to go outside on the porch in 30 degree weather and wait on our table. Let me tell you that the whole half of the left side of the restaurant was empty where those people could have waited in a chair in a heated and warm environment while waiting on their table. Many elderly people were there waiting as well. I told the young lady that, 'no we would not be waiting outside on the front porch in 30 degree weather, that my mother just got out of the hospital for pneumonia.' She told me we could not wait inside. I told her that we most certainly would wait inside for our table. I went to the empty side of the restaurant and I got chairs for the elderly and my mother to sit in. The young school girls went ballistic in anger cause I did so. It should have been them that went and got chairs for the elderly to sit in and wait for 30 to 40 minutes for their table. Every one sitting in front was appalled at the young school girls behavior and their very smart mouths full of words with hostility. When we finally was called to our table, the young school girl called out to me on purpose, 'party of one'. I said, 'no, party of two'. When I corrected her she smarted off very hatefully to my 85 year old mother. The waitress apologized over and over for their behavior and the assistant manager came and apologized while informing us that their general manager Danielle trains them to tell patrons they cannot wait inside and to make them send the customers outside to wait when they are busy. Let me remind you that the left side of the restaurant was completely empty with plenty of room for the waiting customers to wait in comfort and in a heated room and not outside in 30 degree weather. When we left, I told the assistant manager, that checked us out, that the food was excellent and our waitress was too, and that I'm sorry we got off on the wrong foot and explained to her my mother's condition. As I was going out the door and holding the door open for my elderly mother, the young tall blonde school girl smarted off to me and told me that she hopes that God can find a way to bless me. I turned back around and went inside and said, "excuse me?" She repeated herself. I asked her if she and the other young lady were still in high school . She replied yes. I replied that that makes a lot of sense and that God does bless me every day and that I was a pastor. She smarted off again and told me that she goes to church every Sunday. I replied that going to church every Sunday is not walking in the footsteps of Christ and she definitely has not shown that church has taught her any etiquette, manners, honor or communication skills that would give evidence of the character of Christ Jesus. I have never been so disrespectfully spoken to in any establishment. No matter how good the food and service are... The front end of a dining experience and the back end can totally ruin the excellence in between the two. We will never return. We left the waitress a 20 percent tip for her excellent service....But no great food is enjoyable under the kind of stress and attack that we had to endure tonight. General manager Danielle, you have fallen way short in training your front end and exit staff. You should be ashamed of the way that you have trained them to treat your patrons, because you're too lazy to have to maybe put some chairs back in order of a completely empty left side of the restaurant while you send people to sit outside in the cold. I had to apologize over and over again to my elderly mothe

We waited for a while for our waiter to come out. We gave him our drink and food order he then went into the back and complained to the mgr saying he thinks we don't like him. He finally brought our food out. He NEVER refilled our drinks (Sabrina was the one to do that). Over all his personality sucked! If he is going to whine maybe he should go home to his momma or put a passy in his mouth. Dude grow a set or move on! 😡 Oh by the way WE DONT LIKE YOU! Don't think I would recommend this place for a while. They need BETTER management. Katrina was NOT helpful at all.

We love eating at Captain galley the only thing is they are a little pricey and they don't offer a military or senior discount. But the food is always fresh and hot and the service is amazing.

C-level seafood and service. Outside looks in disrepair (see photos), and service is exceedingly slow. Food is bland with salad greens of pale iceberg lettuce. There are better seafood restaurants in the area.
Kid-friendliness: Okay but slow; kids get antsy.

Portions are smaller than they used to be. They also do not have red slaw. Fried oysters were very small! Only had one small fillet of white fish! Hush puppies were good!
