🍅 The Tomato Soup deserves its own standing ovation. My bride, not one to toss out superlatives lightly, declared it “the best she has ever had.” That’s not just praise—it’s legacy-level culinary achievement.

🍺 The “put It in Reverse” IPA was a revelation. Cleverly named and brilliantly brewed, it paired perfectly with the town’s historical backdrop—especially the nod to evolutionary theory, which felt like a poetic wink to Dayton’s Scopes Trial legacy. “I've never gotten bad food here. The employees are always pleasant and accomodating. It is a food stand so you can't say much for atmosphere, but the picnic table area is always clean. The food is nice and homemade food that you would expect from a family kitchen. Tasty, pretty flavorful, and quickly prepped. Prices have gone up some, and some items are a bit overpriced but most are just right.

Parking: adjoins a church that's only open on sundays, easy parking

Wheelchair accessibility: you can wheel up - it is on grass turf and gravel so it may be a bit of an obstacle”

“Stopped at Carrabelle's on a Saturday night while passing through Dayton. Katie, our server, was extremely friendly and helpful. I ordered the pretzel appetizer with honey mustard and queso to start. The pretzels were perfect. So soft on the inside and delicious. For my entree, I decided on the Pan-seared Mahi Mahi, baked potato and side house salad for my 2 sides of choice. The fish was perfect. Baked potato was great, and the salad was all fresh. This was a delightful stop on our trip. Menu had plenty to choose from. Our food did take a little while to arrive, but I personally don't worry about that if the food is good, and this was worth the wait.”

“The chicken dinner I ordered was a four piece meal and my husband ordered a four piece catfish dinner. The size of the chicken pieces and the catfish pieces was very small. If I had been really super hungry I would have taken my meal back because it was skimpy. The food did taste good.”
