We arrived for a 5:00 reservation, we ordered drinks and an appetizer and no one ever offered to take our entree order. After finishing our appetizer and drinks we waited thirty minutes and asked for our check. Other dinners seated at the same time, where already on desert. The appetizer and the cocktails were good.

The atmosphere was great, but the food left much to be desired. We were among the first to arrive as our reservation was at 5PM, we immediately placed our order for an appetizer, the pork belly lettuce wraps, which were amazing. Then we placed our entrée orders when we received our drinks. As we were eating our appetizer, I noticed the table that came in after us got bread... I didn't see it on the menu so I asked if we could get some for our table too. Then another table that came in after us received bread as well, while we were waiting for our entrees, which I thought odd considering I asked for it before they even arrived. We finally received our bred after the table had been cleared of entrees.. it was probably about 20-30 minutes after we sat down and we were told our food would be out shortly. Not the end of the world, but I felt the timing could have been better. Another 10-15 went by and it was after 6PM when we got our food, which given what we paid, the chicken and duck entrees were VERY lackluster. The hind quarter of my duck was piping hot, while the breast portion was lukewarm at best. The chicken in my wives entre was about the same temperature as my duck breast. This tells me there was a prep issue with the hind quarter and the rest of the food was most likely finished before the quarter- also explaining the wait time. Then the mushrooms and potatoes on the chicken entrée was just flat out inedible. The mushrooms were a chewy rubber texture and were basically cold. The potatoes had a sear on the outside and hard on the inside. Essentially, the accoutrements on both dishes were somehow worse than the already subpar entrees. I RARELY leave negative reviews as I've worked in the industry in the past and realize some places have off days... but given the price we paid and the quality/timing of the food it just left a sour taste in our mouths. I was expecting much more and drove an hour to come here but was very disappointed.

It was a very lovely low keyed dinner. My husband had the pork chop and I had the scallops. We were both really happy. A small quiet restaurant. So pleasant. Too bad we are only passing through.

Fine dining in Leiper's Fork, a small town by any measure? Yes, indeed. Chef and restaurant can hold their heads high for this performance. The menu and drink selection is small, but what they offer is good and well executed. My scallops with risotto could hold their own against anything in the Nashville area: scallops perfectly cooked with no trace of overcooking, the squid-inked risotto both crisp and chewy in proper measure, the whole dish well composed. My wife's fish was flakey and tasty as well. Appetizers and desert completed a dining experience that was well worth coming here. The place itself is an old building with, well, old building issues - it was cold that day, and the heaters were having trouble keeping everything toasty. The servers dealt with the problems as best they could. Just be aware that when they call this the “historic downtown” of Leiper's fork, they mean it. :)

Four of us had the halibut entree and we all loved it. One had the pork chop and she was was very pleased with that entree. We could not have asked for a more pleasant dining experience. Low noise level so we could easily converse.

Lovely experience. Everyone was kind and attentive! Highly recommend the 1892 Burger! The caesar salad with the bacon tomato jam + toast was also amazing. Can’t wait to come back!

Popped in on the fly and enjoyed a grilled cheese with tomato basil soup and a caesar salad. The service and food were both good and we will be returning for dinner sometime soon.

We really enjoyed our Valentine's Day dinner. at 1892. The food was excellent and well proportioned, plus our server was friendly and very efficient. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere that is missing from so many restaurants these days. Highly recommend!

Fabulous little gem in Franklin,TN. From the ambiance ( it’s in an old house-from 1892 hence the name of the restaurant) to the food this was a great restaurant. The menu is limited and is always changing but that is part of the appeal of dining here. I have lived in Franklin for almost a year and was happy that I finally got there. I’ll definitely go back.

We felt that our dinner was over salted, but otherwise delicious. Ambiance great, server great, food really good. Menu great. So, maybe just our palates... but we who enjoyed the steak frites thought too much salt.

I would recommend trying 1892 for the experience alone. The food was good, but we felt a bit overpriced for what we received and the quality. In addition, my dish was on the salty side. The service was great as was the ambiance.

Was really hoping to write a wonderful review, but unfortunately our experience was not so great. I suspect the issues we experienced were a trickle down effect of a staffing shortage. Took forever to get our wine, and even longer for our dinner. It looked like this was an issue for most tables as most folks looked displeased. Our scallops were good, but some of the rice appeared to be a bit undercooked as it tended to be crunchy. They have such a great menu and the character of the restaurant is outstanding. I hope they can get the staffing issue worked out, because we'd like to come back and give it another try.
