Staff isn’t very friendly. The parking is really tight. The inside is very very small but eating outside puts you right at the chick fil a drive thru. The food was pretty bland. The grilled chicken was just gross…zero flavor. The cornbread was so dry and crumbly I wished I was eating in the rain to moisten it up. My 7 year old liked the Mac n cheese but that was about it. 2 adults and 2 kids almost $50. I’d skip this one if you’re looking for flavor.

None of the sides had any seasoning. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and the breading fell apart as soon as I cut into it. The green beans tasted canned and the mashed potatoes and mac and cheese were both flavorless and almost identical. The entire meal lacked taste or creativity and felt more like institutional food than a restaurant experience.

I don’t understand why people keep talking about this place. Bland food that tastes straight out of a can. Instant mashed potatoes with gravy out of an envelope, styrofoam plates, plastic cutlery. One and done for me

My customer ordered us lunch from there and the food was so good that I went back for dinner later that evening. If you love southern cuisine, do yourself a favor and go to this restaurant. You will not be disappointed, there is a variety of foods to choose from, it’s like a buffet, but they serve you what you want. Definitely a 10!

We love getting drive to go here. The food is always on point. The price for a family pack is great compared to other restaurants. I highly recommend eating here if you like southern food.

I ordered from here through DoorDash, and while the delivery was quick and smooth, the food itself was hit or miss. As a lifelong Southerner who knows their way around a meat-and-three, I wanted to give an honest, detailed rundown of each item.

Mac N Cheese (1/5): Watery and bland, with none of the creaminess or richness you expect. It had more of a cafeteria-style feel than true Southern comfort.

Green Beans (0/5): Easily the weakest part of the meal. They tasted like plain beans boiled in tap water, completely unseasoned. Even the onions in the mix had no flavor.

Mashed Potatoes (3/5): More like cream potatoes — smooth and consistent in texture. A standard, middle-of-the-road side you’d expect from a meat-and-three.

Jalapeño Cornbread (4/5): A real highlight. Moist, buttery, and flavorful, with a subtle jalapeño note that wasn’t spicy but added interest.

Fried Leg Quarter (4/5): Crispy, well-seasoned skin and a solid portion. Not spicy, but flavorful enough to be satisfying. A dependable choice.

Banana Pudding (3.5/5): The pudding itself was smooth and tasty, but the meringue was watery and syrupy, which dragged it down. Still a pleasant finish overall.

Final Thoughts:
This meal was a mixed bag. A couple of items really delivered (the cornbread and chicken), but others — especially the green beans and mac n cheese — fell flat. If you order here, know that you may get both the highs and the lows of the meat-and-three experience.

It’s kind of sad that you ran out of one of the meat choices before 7. My wife and I were both going to have the meatloaf. She ended up with the veggie plate because the chicken looked dry enough to pick your teeth with.

Went today had fried chicken, carrot souffle, green beans, corn bread and mac n cheese... it took a long time the anyone to say hello or serve me. The grease on the chicken tasted old, green beans were cooked in only water and onions. Carrot souffle was ok, mac n cheese was just blah.

Imagine if McDonald’s had a meat and three restaurant and you would be visualizing our experience at Bishop’s. Like McDonald’s the food was adequate. The chicken tenders were similar to MacDonald’s; it was that same kind of ‘chicken product’, white meat shot through with salt water with a texture of being manufactured. These were not homemade chicken tenders. The green beans were straight out of a can. Like McDonald’s, you will be eating off styrofoam plates and with plastic utensils. The server who waited on us seemed bored and uninterested (just like some McDonald’s). The banana pudding had a weird consistency. It, too, had this weird manufactured texture, not at all like pudding. It DID taste somewhat like what you would imagine someone’s banana pudding might taste like, just no one’s pudding that you would finish or want to have again. Like McDonald’s, we entered hungry and the food filled us adequately. Unfortunately, we entered with much higher expectations than McDonald’s and, in that respect we were disappointed in this meat and three. We didn’t hate it. It was just adequate. It was not a dining experience we are particularly interested in repeating.

This is unfortunate because the hot chicken flavor and spice is great. It holds up to any hot chicken in Nashville but the simple fact that they are priced higher than most others and they did not fresh fry to order is not good. the chicken could be so crispy fresh and juicy but my tenders came out in literally 45 seconds which is not good in the world of hot chicken. A fresh fry to order would make this a great place staff is not very inviting but they weren’t rude
