Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que (To Go Only)

I came in late, 45 mins before closing time. I didn't understand that the famous Dave's was a ghost kitchen and to-go only, not a big problem. I ordered grilled chicken and BBQ chicken with fries and a side salad. The fries were fine and hot but no ketchup or BBQ sauce came with the food. The side salad never made it into my meal and was forgotten about. Then the Chicken....what a let down. The grilled chicken was mostly dry, there was some dark meat thigh which was moist but nothing special. Then the BBQ chicken....it was not BBQ chicken. All they did was take grilled chicken and put BBQ sauce on it.

My hope for this review is that the manager will take ownership of his/her team and get the house in order. I know you can do better than this.

Ignore the old location photos that have Famous Dave’s sign above the building. Although prominent in this listing, their new location is actually inside Granite City restaurant. There’s is no sign in front. Go through the main entrance and you’ll find the ordering station next to the hostess.

Call ahead. Meals take at least 15 minutes to prepare. But there are some comfortable waiting areas. Food is as good as I remember it at the old sweeps standing location closer to the mall.

You gotta get their cornbread muffins. They are extra sweet, soft, and delicious!

Parking: Park in front of the Grill and enter its main entrance. The hostess also helps with the Famous Dave’s order.

Ordered food an hour in advance and had to wait an extra 30 minutes (was told maybe 10 more) after arrival just for muffins- in an uncrowded restaurant. When I asked the manager why it’s taking so long I got no apology- just an I don’t know why they aren’t ready and then he walked off.

The food tasted reheated, not fresh, no essence of BBQ. The only good item we had were the Fries I had Famous Dave's 2 years ago and it was a 6 out of 10. This take out place was a 1 out of 10. The burnt ends were like chopped rubber roast beef, the brisket had no flavor, the chicken was dryer than cheap toilet paper, and ribs were tough as a leather belt.

Not a famous Dave’s

So i drove 2 hrs to get some good old Famous Dave's. Although the website says Famous Daves its not an actual Famous Daves restaurant which is what i was looking for. I passed this place twice and actually went back and saw the address outside the Granite city Food & Brewery. I was a bit disappointed because none of the food tasted like any of the signature dishes. The baked beans looked the same but i did not care for them. Im giving a 3 star because the food was good but it definitely did not have the Famous Dave’s taste I'm use to. I would go back but i would make the longer trip to Murfreesboro to get actual famous daves. This Franklin location also has a minimal menu and some of the food I was looking for was not on their menu.

Service was great! The girl who had our food together made sure we had extra sauce and plates. However the food was horrible!! Nothing like the Famous Dave’s that used to be here in Franklin where you could sit down and eat. Corn was not sweet and was watery, bread was dry, beans were too tangy and the recipe tasted different. Had not had Famous Dave’s in awhile so I was excited about eating it again. Such a disappointment and unsatisfying.

The delicious food

I’ve visited Famous Dave’s in other parts of TN,however , this location failed to deliver.The rib tips and brisket were hard and dry.The service was great though!

Ordered takeout from the Famous Dave's ghost kitchen operating out of Granite City. After arriving at exactly the time it would be ready, I waited an additional 10 minutes at the front of Granite City. No host to greet anyone. I understand these restaurants are short-staffed. I'm not knocking Famous Dave's for that. (Actually, my order was waiting for me behind the counter. Wish I had known it was mine...I would have just picked it up myself!) My issue is with the actual food. Ordered the Georgia chopped pork with coleslaw and corn. Got instead two corn on the cobs (ice cold) and no cornbread biscuits to be found anywhere. There was hardly any bbq sauce on the dry, unseasoned pork (and no extra sauce OR silverware in the bag. Can I get a plastic fork, at least???) The coleslaw was the only item that was half decent. For the price paid, I am very disappointed in Famous Dave's. They usually have great bbq. Not this time. I don't think I'll be back for a while.

I gave this 1 star due to the fact that I couldn't taste anything but BBQ sauce on my ribs. I always thought BBQ sauce was optional and not a seasoning. I couldn't taste anything but SAUCE. I only use BBQ sauce on my ribs if they are NOT seasoned properly. IM VERY DISAPPOINTED ?, I ordered 3 meat combo ALL ribs, mac n cheese, and beans.The cornbread was GOOD, though!
