Franklin Bakehouse is a great spot to grab a quick pastry and a drink to take on your walk around downtown Franklin. They have a mix of sweet and savory breakfast items, as well as a small selection of other food and drink items in a small refrigerated section.
The staff is very friendly and will bring your drinks and food to your table, making the experience a nice relaxing stop whether you’re starting or ending your time out around downtown. I highly recommend giving them a try and if I had to give a recommendation, I would definitely try their raspberry danish!

I usually don’t leave bad reviews.
I honestly don’t understand how this place can have such a rating.
First of all, the prices are absolutely unjustifiably high.
Secondly, this was the worst avocado toast I’ve ever had — burnt and oversalted. It cost $8.
The same goes for the two coffees.
The place nearby, Rubi Sunshine, is much better.

Awesome local bakery where everything is made fresh! Sandwich bagels are made to order with fresh cooked eggs! Would eat here again and again! We found it a year ago on our way out of town and when we came back to visit Franklin again we wanted to eat here everyday so we did!
Parking is tricky here since it is in the historic downtown Franklin district. Street parking is free on weekends but get here early. Paid parking lots are nearby. This is a must do if you are in Franklin!

I really wanted to support this small bakery, but my experience left me feeling misled and taken advantage of. When I first visited, the owner, Steve Bledsoe, asked where we were from. After I said California, he told an employee to give us the “California discount.” When the total came out to $40 per pie, I was shocked and asked why the price was so high. I was given a long explanation about premium ingredients and homemade quality. Feeling awkward and wanting to support a family-owned business, I went ahead and bought four pies.
The next day, when I came back to pick them up, I noticed on the register that another customer had been charged $25 per pie. That was a big red flag. To double-check, I later called the shop as a new customer and was told pies are $25. When I asked to speak with the owner, his answers were inconsistent and unconvincing.
I’m extremely disappointed. especially in a local business that relies on community trust. I left feeling like I was charged more simply because the owner thought he could get away with it. I will not be returning, and I hope the business reconsiders how it handles pricing and customer interactions. On top of the dishonesty, I could have supported Costco‘s instead and bought larger pies that tasted just as good if not better, for a quarter of the price.

Food was really good - quiche and cinnamon roll. But my goodness - the front was run by a bunch of 16-year olds who didn’t know what they were doing. Had no idea what hot tea is. Had to ask repeatedly for our drinks. ‘Oops, I forgot’. A couple of adults did peak out from the kitchen a time or two, but they weren’t taking care of business.
Highly recommend. That was the best bread or sandwich I’ve had in a long time. They soup was excellent too. All the staff is very friendly.

Loved the baked goods and comfortable seating options. Both times I went I was able to get a spot and relax with a book.

We just found the Bakehouse!!! Or should I say we have passed on the Bakehouse many times not realizing how much we were missing!!!
We have been twice in 3 days! The focaccia bread Italian sandwich was fantastic. The bread was so good. We also have tried the lemon orzo chicken soup, that was great. The pasta salad was very good also. So far we have enjoyed the items we have tried. Now we have to go back and try the pastry! Staff has been delightful both times.

We were so excited to try this place! We got a couple of breakfast sandwiches that were delicious as were the 2 lattes. We treated ourselves to a cinnamon roll except I would not actually consider it a treat. It had so much icing on it you could barely taste the cinnamon. We will definitely opt for a different treat next time.

Fantastic sweet and savoury baked goods baked on site as a main offering with fresh salads and soups, supplemented by locally sourced cold drinks and coffee.
Staff are lovely and the vibe is really welcoming and chilled. You can eat with plentiful seating, or take away.

First time visiting and I had to write this as soon as I finished my breakfast. The BEST English muffin I've ever had! Wonderful service and excellent food and coffee. I'll definitely be back!
I usually never go in any of the new developments in Franklin for fear they will feel stuffy and unwelcoming. Wow! glad I gave this a try.
Matthew was so kind and patient as we navigated the menu. They took the time to answer questions and offered helpful suggestions. Not sure where you found this person but do everything you can to keep them.
I called back to the store and spoke to Karina(hope I spelled that right) and wow! Another super kind person. Guess you must be doing something right to attract these fantastic down to earth people.
Happy we found this place!
Everyone was welcoming and nice. I got a London Fog and it was amazing. Will definitely be back when I have the chance.
