We celebrated our 7th anniversary with dinner at Southall Farms, and it was unforgettable. We decided to splurge on their house dry-aged steak at $8 per ounce, and since the smallest one was 28 ounces it officially makes the most expensive steak we’ve ever ordered—and absolutely worth it. Perfectly cooked, rich, and full of flavor. Mathew says don't miss getting the Parker House rolls!

The dining room is stunning, with high ceilings and warm design. The view through the floor-to-ceiling windows made me want to come back each season for the view. We weren’t hotel or spa guests this time, and dinner alone made us want to come back for the full Southall Inn experience. Highly recommended for a special occasion. (especially if someone else is treating). Thanks for a terrific meal.

Great atmosphere, especially outside with the fire pit going. They have a s’more station. Excellent food, something for everyone. Service was top notch. Backdrop with forest is beautiful. Couldn’t recommend it more.

Only odd thing was the 23% automatic tip - recommendation is to charge more and max tip out at 20%.

I was first introduced to the Greener Roots Lettuces in late 2022 or early 2023 by Marcus Gray. I am dead serious when I say, that salad changed my whole mindset regarding food preparation & dining experiences. I never realized how much 'fresh-from-the-farm' ingredients can change and elevate a simple dish. This menu item is literally ultra fresh lettuces, seeds, and the house-made sorghum vinaigrette (I had no protein added). It is an utterly divine and unforgettable dish, for me, anyway. I still think about that salad to this day. I feel that the dish is a compliment to the chef that created it, in that, complex culinary methods & ingredients are not always necessary to produce memorable flavors and textures. Simple, fresh ingredients imagined in creative ways can be (as in this case) extraordinary.

We went for a reservation dinner party of 8 and we all had a wonderful time. The drink menu is fun and innovative, the staff are attentive and quick. The food is seasonal so it changes based of the local climate. I had the steak and it was phenomenal. Super flavorful and the fries were good too. The truffle bread was a must at the table. It’s definitely a pricy place, but well worth the service and food quality! Great for special occasions.

We went for brunch on Sunday and we loved the atmosphere, attentiveness to detail, and the taste of the food. Valet parking was included. All the staff from the valet to the server were friendly and helpful. The service could have been a bit faster, but we had such a pleasant experience that we just enjoyed our time together and the beautiful views. I did question why a 23% gratuity was mandatory, but it was worth it and we will be back. I also appreciate that they do NOT use canola oil which is unhealthy.

I don’t know why people have left bad reviews, this place is AMAZING! The grounds are absolutely stunning. We had dinner at Sojourner and I did make a reservation. There’s free valet parking (so make sure you have some cash for a tip). The valet was super friendly and got all our doors for us. We walked in the lobby and were greeted by more friendly staff. The lobby is gorgeous. Everything is so well done. We sat outside and the views were beautiful. It was so peaceful! Our server Aly was fantastic! So friendly and helpful with great customer service! I ordered one cocktail that I did not care for and she swapped it out for something else I liked. The cocktails and the food was amazing. Every bite was so delicious and had so much flavor! At the end of our dinner we told her we were ready and she already had our check. Everything was effortless and wonderful. We will definitely be back! We also want to try the brunch. Highly recommend!

If the not so good reviews are putting you off, I’d recommend still giving this place a try!!
The food was awesome and you’d really be missing out! Honestly, it deserves a higher rating!!

As long as you can get past the cons that others have mentioned (20% tip automatically added to bill so don’t tip on top of this, need a reservation at least a day in advance - absolutely no walk ins, prices are a bit high (like $24 for burger)), it’s a great place!

People complain about the service being slow but we didn’t notice that and I really enjoyed sitting in the stunning location (I wouldn’t want to rush my visit there!). Yes, there are other customers (some even in bathrobes from the sauna 😂) but what restaurant doesn’t occasionally have other loud customers (not that we experienced this). And servers were also super friendly and attentive.

As a celiac, I was worried but most things on the menu can be made gluten free! They even advised against fries as the frier has cross contamination. The burger was absolutely incredible (and I’ve had a lot of burgers 😂). They don’t have gf buns but have gf bread which was great. The lavender haze lemonade was incredible. Our whole group loved the food! And the venue is stunning. I’d recommend walking around the outside or checking out the store and sauna!

My dining experience at Sojourner at the Southall Farm & Inn was nothing short of exceptional. Situated on 325 acres of working farmland in Franklin, this restaurant delivers on its promise of farm-to-table dining in the most authentic way possible.

The meal began with their outstanding housemade sourdough bread served warm from the oven, accompanied by cultured butter topped with flaky sea salt – a simple yet perfect start that showcased their attention to detail. The carrot hummus with crudité was remarkably fresh, highlighting the quality of their farm-grown vegetables.

The star of the evening was the Bear Creek Farm Pork Coppa Steak, served with buttermilk butter beans and spinach. The pork, slow-cooked sous vide for 24 hours before being crisped to perfection, was absolutely sublime. The technique and execution were flawless, resulting in one of the most memorable dishes I've had in recent memory.

The beverage program deserves special mention. I tried the Heartbeet cocktail (mezcal, farm beets, cynar, lime, egg white, and rosemary), which was beautifully balanced and showcased their commitment to incorporating farm-fresh ingredients even in their cocktails.

What sets Sojourner apart is not just the quality of the food, but how every element of the meal feels thoughtfully connected to the land it came from. The restaurant's location amid their working farm isn't just for show – you can taste the freshness and care in every bite.

Service was knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. The ambiance perfectly balances refinement with rural charm. While this is a special occasion price point, the value matches the experience. Already looking forward to trying their sister restaurant, January, in the future.

Highly recommended for anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience that honors both culinary craft and agricultural heritage.

Such a beautiful setting, free valet parking and decent food! But severely lacking in user experience and southern hospitality in trying to book reservations, the check in desk and especially the servers. This most recent time dining here I received the bill (server only gave the credit card receipt without the breakdown) and added a 20% tip on top. Later it dawned on me that they already add 20% gratuity so I had paid 40%+ gratuity. Annoying to have to remember that they automatically add it as the server didn’t mention that and was possibly trying to be deceptive in not giving the bill with the breakdown.
It could be such a gem we’d be thrilled to take family and friends to but at this point is clearly a billionaires playground that doesn’t feel the need to compete in the real world as nothing has changed in the multiple times we’ve dined here. We’ll continue to come occasionally as the setting is so beautiful and hope they can get things together with the culture.

Food was good, however it is a limited menu that isn’t published to check what’s “in-season”. We had found an old menu and were excited to try 2 dishes no longer offered.

The farm to table aspect is a very nice touch. Small items though like bread pudding coming out lukewarm/cold in the middle, hummus texture was very gritty, not a lot of sauce on mains. Flavors all great just expect a little more at the price points. Wine selection was fantastic though, again a little pricey considering TN tax and auto-grat added.

Service was decent but this was for a big occasion, called and confirmed it with host day of and nothing was done they didn’t even have my wife’s food allergies noted. Server was also a bit slow and didn’t check-in between courses/awkwardly cleared table and switched silverware at the same time food runner was waiting holding our food even when we hadn’t seen him for 15 minutes between courses (Only 2 tables in our section). Just young staff and the auto-gratuity doesn’t make them “earn” it. Gladly tip well in places like this but think they are dropping the ball knowing this.

Atmosphere top notch take some time before to explore the grounds or hang out at the fire pits after dinner for some S’mores. Nice touches but lacking some of the 5 star expectations.
