Such a beautiful setting, free valet parking and decent food! But severely lacking in user experience and southern hospitality in trying to book reservations, the check in desk and especially the servers. This most recent time dining here I received the bill (server only gave the credit card receipt without the breakdown) and added a 20% tip on top. Later it dawned on me that they already add 20% gratuity so I had paid 40%+ gratuity. Annoying to have to remember that they automatically add it as the server didn’t mention that and was possibly trying to be deceptive in not giving the bill with the breakdown.
It could be such a gem we’d be thrilled to take family and friends to but at this point is clearly a billionaires playground that doesn’t feel the need to compete in the real world as nothing has changed in the multiple times we’ve dined here. We’ll continue to come occasionally as the setting is so beautiful and hope they can get things together with the culture.

Food was good, however it is a limited menu that isn’t published to check what’s “in-season”. We had found an old menu and were excited to try 2 dishes no longer offered.

The farm to table aspect is a very nice touch. Small items though like bread pudding coming out lukewarm/cold in the middle, hummus texture was very gritty, not a lot of sauce on mains. Flavors all great just expect a little more at the price points. Wine selection was fantastic though, again a little pricey considering TN tax and auto-grat added.

Service was decent but this was for a big occasion, called and confirmed it with host day of and nothing was done they didn’t even have my wife’s food allergies noted. Server was also a bit slow and didn’t check-in between courses/awkwardly cleared table and switched silverware at the same time food runner was waiting holding our food even when we hadn’t seen him for 15 minutes between courses (Only 2 tables in our section). Just young staff and the auto-gratuity doesn’t make them “earn” it. Gladly tip well in places like this but think they are dropping the ball knowing this.

Atmosphere top notch take some time before to explore the grounds or hang out at the fire pits after dinner for some S’mores. Nice touches but lacking some of the 5 star expectations.

Southall/Sojourner is undoubtedly deserving of its praise when it comes to the quality of the food. The dishes were creative, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Each bite was a testament to the chef’s skill, and the attention to detail in the menu was clear. However, the overall experience fell short due to the disappointing service.

We had high hopes for a special evening as it was our anniversary, but the atmosphere was tarnished by another patron who was excessively loud, to the point where we could hear her chewing and speaking at the same time. After discreetly bringing this to the attention of the staff, we noticed a marked decline in the level of service we received. We went from feeling like valued guests to feeling ignored.

What was supposed to be a memorable celebration felt more like a rushed meal, with little effort made by the staff to acknowledge our special occasion or ensure we were comfortable. For a restaurant of this caliber, we expected more consideration, especially given the premium prices. While the food was exceptional, the lack of attentiveness and hospitality left us with a disappointing overall experience. We hope the service will improve to match the standard of the cuisine.

Stood at the bar for 10 minutes to get a drink. There were 4 people there total. Got a beer and glass of wine for nearly $60. Automatically adding 20% gratuity for crappy service and overpriced drinks is ridiculous

If I could give it 0 stars I would and I'm not one to leave good or bad reviews but we have come here to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and grab brunch - it was a hot day, was sat outside and we have waited for 15/20min until finally a waiter approached us and asked if we want some water, food was nothing great either but overall customer experience was by far the worst I have experienced in quite some time. And on top of that gratuity is added automatically!! We like to consider ourselves as good tippers and we enjoy tipping for good service but we would not have done so in this case.

my sisters and I booked a 5 night stay for a beautiful experience and sister time. Southall, you have touched on everything amazing that this sister time has to offer. The staff is terrific, pleasant, accommodating and just over the top. You have done an amazing job screening for pure happiness in the keepers of your venue. All the amenities make this place a dream spot to enjoy while never having to venture out. We have enjoyed the spa, fly fishing, bee keeping, dining and of course the causal bar. No matter where I go or what hours I am moving around, the staff has been over the top with accommodations. Chipper in the bar, Katie at the front desk overnight, Jake at the front in the day and even Bill in security have all been wonderful. I cannot stress enough how wonderful All the staff have been. Thank you for the wonderful memories. Well Done

Ignore most of the reviews so far on here. They are behind the times and not being bothered by adding tipping is expected at better resorts like this. Food is excellent although it may not be your cup of tea no way will you say poor quality. Service was excellent for breakfast without too much interference and plenty of time as expected of a resort breakfast and lunch location. Reviews on here that are poor are ridiculous! The atmosphere on the terrace is fantastic and will get better as the years pass.

If you are looking for southern hospitality, this is not the place. For a place that charges $112 for two glasses of wine and hummus, I would have at least expected the bartenders to be pleasant and helpful, they were not. My wife was excited to show me Southall after going to the spa a few times (although she had a similar experience with their staff) but we opted to go there instead of our usual Friday night date spot Perry’s. Not sure what they’re going for but customer service and an inviting atmosphere isn’t it. Save your time and money and go elsewhere. The one positive here, the valet and doormen were pleasant and respectful young men.

Terrible. Tried this place multiple times after spa treatments and it gets worse every time. Servers are unfriendly, unpleasant, and just rude. Bartenders cussing behind the bar - just bad. I’d suggest Perry’s.

The atmosphere and the service were wonderful! We sat outside on the patio, and it was lovely! But the food was not good whatsoever. For a $300 meal I expected way more. The burger was subpar, and the short rib was not good either. I definitely would not go back with the current menu.

Parking: There is valet parking at the restaurant.

Don’t think we will be back. Took my wife to Lunch and sat outside on the patio. Atmosphere and food staff was nice, but our waiter Taylor unfortunately was not. When you spend $200 on lunch you would at least expect the service to be stellar. We are good tippers when we have receive great customer service. We asked him for an appetizer recommendation he looked annoyed. Did not come to ask how our lunch was and when he dropped off the check he says “oh by the way 20% gratuity was included”. I said that he sucked and would have tipped him zero. He laughed and then realized I was serious. I do not think that a 20% tip rule is right. It gives the service staff no reason to work hard and they think just because they show up they don’t have to work hard. I did talk to the manager afterwards and he apologized and did comp our lunch (which was a nice gesture).

Farm to table has never been betterYou can go see their greenhouse and how they grow their vegetablesThe burger was definitely a bougie burger and it proved it by how excellently crafted it wasThe bacon was ethereal, it took me to a special place. Every single thing was well thought out, cohesive and elegantly comforting

Franklin resident. Just stopped by on a Sunday drive to check out the property, spa and restaurant. Curious to see the property and perhaps book a spa visit. Was turned away by gestapo like security at the front gate like a pariah. Must have been profiled in my 100k BMW as a clear security threat. Run away from this place. Very rude.
