Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar

Our visit to Tupelo Honey in Franklin, TN, was a genuine pleasure. The friendly hostess greeted us warmly, and our server was knowledgeable about the menu. The food was exceptional—the Chicken & Waffles featured moist waffles and crispy chicken, while the Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Cream of Tomato Soup was a comforting classic. The Banana Pudding provided a sweet finish to our meal. With an inviting atmosphere and reasonable prices, Tupelo Honey has definitely earned a spot on our "must-return" list!

I typically enjoy Tupelo Honey, but this time I was disappointed. I made a reservation with a notation of a birthday celebration. I chose this place for my birthday dinner because I recently relocated to the Memphis area and there's not a Tupelo Honey nearby. The chicken was extremely greasy and salty. I was seated by the host who didn't wish me a happy birthday and served by the server who also didn't extend birthday wishes. No attention to details on this visit, unfortunately.

We got to the restroom just prior to our 8:45 reservation. As we entered to go to the host stand, we noticed the door said that the restaurant closed at 9. As out of town guests who planned the reservation, we asked if the door was accurate and how we would be served. The host said “I can't control when guests are still allowed to make reservations online, but yes, we close at 9pm.” It was clear he did not want us to stay. Extremely disappointing experience as we don't have this restaurant where we live and were excited to try it again. The person at the host stand needs some customer service training OR the reservation system needs an overhaul if they are going to make guests feel badly if they walk in for their reservation time and they really don't want to serve them that late. We ended up walking to the nearby restaurants that were all happy to serve us and didn't close at 9 on a Saturday night. Boo for Tupelo Honey.

Went on Saturday night. Was able to get seated upon arrival. Very friendly waitress. Atmosphere was relaxed and restaurant looked new. Biscuits with butter & blueberries was a great way to start. Fried okra was good but the spicy dipping sauce was excellent. Fried chicken dinner was nice, a little greasy. Brussel sprouts were also fried, not roasted. Overall we were very happy with this restaurant and would return. Vegetable offerings are limited and the brussel sprouts were greasy.

Met some friends for a guys night. Sat outside on a perfect night. Maisey, our server, made the experience. She was cheerful and engaging and more importantly well presented and articulate. Had a great time and we all enjoyed our meals. Thanks for a fun time and please recognize Maisey for setting a standard servers should aspire to reach. Best,

Everything was good however the wait time was much longer than anticipated even with reservations. But they did their best to accommodate, and despite the overflow of people, they were professional one every way and I will definitely go back.

It took 53 minutes and us asking three times to finally receive utensils. They got the appetizer order wrong twice when we only ordered 2 appetizers!! It then took another 43 minutes to receive our entrees. My avocado toast looked like it came from the Waffle House!!! Horrible.

Our food took about an hour to come out after ordering. Many tables that were seated after us received their food and left before we received ours, however, we did have a large party of 11.

We have been going here for years and have always liked it so I hesitate to write this review. However, my wife's avocado toast for our Easter Brunch was terrible ... brown instead of green an d borderline inedible. My wife mentioned this at end f meal b/c she is shy. The waitress apologized and we left.

I feel like this is a pretty standard upscale restaurant. Good atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. They recommended their homemade soda and it was nice, maybe a little expensive. One last thing, I thought the sweet and spicy chicken sandwich would be covered in sauce based on the description and image online, but it was not. Just a heads up for anyone interested in that dish.

Food and mimosas were amazing. The server seemed like she didn't want to be there but we all have bad days. Definitely will go back when I'm in town.

Everything was perfect. Our service was impeccable. The food was exceptional. The restaurant looked great! All four of us got something different and loved our meal. 10/10 recommend! Excellent job to all

Food: The po’boy was good both grilled and fried. Freshly made which I appreciated.

Atmosphere: Decor and setting is nice. Patio is chill love the huge umbrellas.

Service: During a brief lunch pick up decided to eat on the patio with a friend the hostess did confirm the manager was upset and literally put our food in a box. From the shipper they buy from!!!!?For one we ordered two separate orders we paid in advance for decided to grab a drink on the patio and it upset the manager that bad to put our food in a box. I was upset about the box but to see how upset the host we was for being scolded for questioning why the box was given.

I sat inside at the bar a different occasion with a friend. The bartender was short and slow. Meeting for a brief lunch we thought it would be quicker yet it was just slow service no other parties sitting at bar. The hightops have different servers so we were unsure why the delayed service. It’s an inconvenience when stopping for lunch.

Service is not the best and it was not busy during both times I visited the location. I won’t return or recommend.
