The food was 2 to 2.5 stars at best. I saw the mixed reviews on various websites online so was cautious with buying from the Samushi Hibachi food truck.
I think 1 star is too harsh since 1 star to me means the food tastes terrible. The issue here was predominantly that there was no seasoning to enjoy or disapprove of.
I got only the fried rice and noodles (which cost 8 bucks total). They both smelled very good (which lures you in) but it seems herbs were used for aroma but no flavor.
Both the noodles and rice were very bland in flavor and you couldn’t taste any salt, and I say this as someone who doesn’t like too much salt in my food.
The noodles were hot but the rice was lukewarm and since the food was prepared within 20 minutes, that felt odd and likely means that they gave me premade rice that wasn’t properly reheated.
The noodles had no salt or seasoning that could be tasted. The only flavor was sugar. Additionally, they were chewy and felt more like sweet spaghetti than noodles. For the rice, as mentioned earlier, only herbs could be tasted (very weakly) but no salt or spice whatsoever.
The customer service was good and I had no complaints in regards to that, but I would encourage the company to incorporate better flavors in their food.
Because good customer service can only do so much if the food makes customers not interested in coming back.

I LOVE IT SO MUCH! , so today I was just doing what I was doing and then I ACTUALLY GOT TO WORK WITH THEM! I saw everything in the food truck! Like the cooking equipment, The ingredients, And I even got to experience the food for the first time! It was SO good! So I would recommend this SO MUCH to ANYONE that hasn’t tried it.

So, so good! We vended a festival alongside Samusi this weekend and ate there twice. Everything was delicious and the staff was super courteous and were obviously working hard to fulfill orders as fast as possible. They had a steady line all weekend because everyone wanted to eat there. It's worth the wait. 10/10 definitely recommend. 😃👍🏼

I enjoyed 2 orders of Spring Rolls and absolutely loved the Thia Chili sweet sauce for dipping! The Spring Rolls were soft yet crunchy and the flavor of the vegetables was pleasing.The staff was friendly and answered my questions.

I've never been let down with hibachi until now. Not only did the order come in wrong and our chicken was substituted with steak which normally would not be a big deal. But the honest truth is the steak was garbage. The chicken was at least edible. The rice is just half decent. The noodles are garbage and the vegetables are unlike any other hibachi I have ever had. Not once in my life all over the country. Have I ever had potato in the vegetable hibachi never not once until now. This was a complete waste of $50. We were very disappointed and we were super excited. I have made a better hibachi on my generic Blackstone grill in my backyard and I'm not joking. I mean 100 times better.

Didn't get to try the food because they are too lazy to take call ahead orders in the middle of the day when they for sure are not busy. In todays time when food cost is at an all time high customer service is what sets everything apart. I've worked in the food and service industry for over a decade and the good businesses that last accommodate the consumers request as long as it's reasonable. Luckily there are about 10 other food trucks in Portland .
