Was super excited to try the gluten free fried food, especially the pickles. Drove here to find out that it's been permanently shut down.

OUT.STANDING. The chef is a plant-based trained chef and his wife/server also is incredibly knowledgeable (and proud!) of their recipes and dedication to a gluten free, dairy free, vegan option menu. The only thing we wished is that they'd served breakfast! We'd be there every day!! The atmosphere is very relaxed and understated. The chef even came out to speak with us about his training and the menu. I felt right at home!

Food was ok, our wait was over an hour from order to getting the food. They were out of multiple things on their menu. My wife got pasta that had tomatoes on it when it didn't mention tomatoes at all, and they line all their dishes with aluminum foil so by the end she was fighting off bits of foil in her food. Also got charged for tap waterVegetarian options: Good veggie options

Found the Bear cub cafe by accident. We were so happy to find a place that served vegan food. We had loaded fries, fried pickles and cauliflower bites. Everything was delicious and the service was great. Spent time talking with the owners.Went back the next day. They had our table set up outside before we got there. The chef actually grilled a plain piece of chicken for the dogs. We had appetizers, 2 vegan meals and a salad. The food was outstanding especially the homemade vegan ranch dressing.Great food and service. Definitely a great place to eat.

This place's advertising and online presence is extremely misleading. They claim everything is fully vegetarian, but they serve real pork and chicken. We even asked to clarify that everything was vegetarian, and they said yes, but when we asked if the meat was soy or another vegetarian alternative, they explained that it was real. I'm not sure they know what vegetarian means. They also advertise as gluten free, but not everything is gluten free. Disappointed because we drove 40 minutes from our campground in the national park and ended up having to go all the way back and cook our own lunch. Updated from previous review on 2023-07-07

My motorcycle club and I visited the Bear Cub Grill back in June, we had such an amazing time, eating both lunch and breakfast during our weekend there. The owners are so friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious! The chicken strips were particularly amazing, with an unexpected tangy flavor. During the breakfast buffet we were treated with such hospitality unheard of in the bigger cities we come from. They were quick to make sure we got as much as we could eat of whatever we wanted, even taking special orders on the side. The prices were perfectly reasonable and the location is quaint and fitting of a mountainside diner/cafe. Highly recommend, and will return in the future!

My family and I were in the area and needed to find a gluten free place to eat. So happy we found Bear Cub Cafe!! It’s a family run cafe and Greg and Felicia were very welcoming. The food was like homemade food and freshly made. It was delicious! I loved my brown rice and lentil salad and kids loved their pastas.Greg and Felicia were very kind and we enjoyed our conversation. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We will definitely visit when we are back in the area. 100% recommend this place!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian dishes, beans, lentilsDietary restrictions: Gluten-free, Dairy free, Vegan optionsKid-friendliness: Super nice couple who were very mindful of kids food preferences

We stopped by after daughters wedding and had a big party. The food was good and had options that other places would not have. If you are in the area and eat vegan or have food allergies you need to stop by. I do believe everything was made fresh to order so it did take us longer to eat than expected.

Our family( one of them being vegan) was extremely delighted to stumble across this cafe for lunch. We liked it so much that we went back the next day for lunch! Vegan option places have been difficult to find in the area, at least for us. The food was tasty and the owners absolutely lovely! They were friendly and very accommodating. We definitely will come back if we visit Sevierville again. Updated from previous review on 2023-08-12

My sister and I are vegan / veg and LOVED this place! The menu was creative and hearty. I wish I could have tried everything! We got a wild rice salad with cucumber and avocado, and a black bean burger with dairy free pepper jack cheeze to-go. Delicious. Our waitress was also the owner and was SO friendly and nice, going above and beyond for us! The place was tucked back a little from the road, and we sat down outside in the shade by a little creek. I'm so glad this place exists and highly recommend if you're plant-forward or just want a fresh, handcrafted meal from a local, family-owned restaurant.Vegetarian options: Several hearty, really good vegetarian and vegan options with seasonal changes. Any meat is cooked on separate equipment.Dietary restrictions: Good for people with allergies or restrictions. Meat is cooked on separate equipment.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available and other things are easily made kid-friendly
