very good food. the servers were attentive to customer needs and any special dietary requests. We enjoyed being seated upstairs where we could see the mountains and people walking by.

This was a great cozy place to get dinner. The steaks are amazing and i recommend getting the jalapeño poppers as an appetizer. If you like old fashions they have a great one with local whiskey from the king family that’s a must try.

We found this restaurant by just walking around town. Food was excellent and also have reasonably priced drinks. You can sit on patio where creek runs beside it.

A great find on Gatlinburg's busiest street! We slid into our booths almost immediately and were waited on by the friendliest servers. I highly recommend the cajun catfish. Oh, so good. And, on your next outing to Howard's, try their pan fried trout. Also, so yummy.. The variety of side dishes are many and all delicious. Drinks are generous and reasonably priced. I will miss this fine restaurant when I return to my home up North. Thank you, Howard's! P.S. You can eat outside, too, if you wish!

Wanting to visit the iconic Howard’s restaurant, and it was superb! A cozy setting overlooking a local brook and waterfall, the atmosphere was relaxed. We had the famous vegetable soup that was simply amazing! FULL of veggies and delicious broth, could have eaten another bowl! Wife had the Pulled Pork sandwich, I had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, both were excellent. Service was spot on, will be back again on our next trip through Gatlinburg!

Stopped for a quick snack on the patio. It’s very beautiful beside a creek. Service was attentive and friendly. I LOVED the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese! I also loved that the patio was pet friendly.

Howards is an established restaurant one of the oldest around but they've kept it up as far as food, service et cetera I got the filet it was great .I got side dishes of vegetables and the salad was very good. I got a Bloody Mary which was very good .The waitress was very attentive

Great service. Good beer selection. Reasonable prices. Generous portions. This place may look a bit worn and not as glitzy as some of the bear or mountain themed eateries, but it is a solid performer. If you care about a satisfying meal without emptying your wallet, this is the place. They have a wide menu, so finding a dish you may enjoy is simple. Recommended.

Delicious food and great service from Andre! Would eat here again. The salmon was exceptional. Early dinner is recommended because it got busy around 6:00

Seemed as if every restaurant in town had a huge waiting list, but they got us right in. We had an amazing view of the river right from their window. Me and My Wife both had the ribeye steak by far the best meal we’ve had since we’ve been in Tennessee. Glad we chose this restaurant.

Good food and service at a reasonable price. Best seating outdoors by creek. Try the trout, salmon or steaks. Reservations suggested.

We love Howard's, not only for the beautiful pet friendly patio, but also for the delicious food. This trip I got the grilled trout and hubby had the fried catfish. Both were outstanding. Lenora was our sweet server, and David the manager stopped by for a chat

The steak dinners were around $30+ so we opted for the $11 hamburger and fries, and was very satisfied. The menu claims it was trimmings from 3 or 4 different fancy steaks and I believe it. because I had mine med rare the hamburger was pretty red and I could taste the ribeye fat flavor pretty good, never had a steak burger with that much flavor. I felt like we were getting a premium steakhouse experience for the price of five guys but with better food. I like how the steakhouse is below street level and above a river, and with it being Gatlinburg's oldest restaurant it really was a positive experience. you may go there and think no big deal, but to me it was.
