I can tell you, unless it was an off day, this was not like any bbq I have ever had. Everything except for the smoked sausage was mush, almost like it was water logged. No seasoning just smoke flavor, and barely that. The people were very friendly, but not what I was expecting. I smoke my own briskets, ribs, and shoulders, but I like to try bbq from different areas on vacation. Super disappointed. 😐

In the mood for BBQ and the Hungry Bear just happened to be the first BBQ restaurant we saw and so very happy it was there! We had wonderful pulled pork sandwiches which were some of the most tender we ever had! Will definitely make this a regular stop!

BBQ restaurant on the highway. It is about 5 miles from where I was staying so we have it a try. Was going to just order a BBQ sandwich, but at $9.49 for just the sandwich I went with the combo. I am use to a LG BBQ sandwich being around $6, but this is tourist country! The BBQ was very tender and not to greasy. I prefer my BBQ as pork shoulder smoked over hickory till it turns slightly pink, but that takes more time than most places are willing. Order a side of corn and cold slaw, both were good.
Parking: Plenty of free parking in the gravel lot, just watch out for the dip off the road if traveling from the Gatlinburg direction.

Great BBQ!! Awesome little BBQ place with a rustic feel inside and a large outside seating area with view of a pond right across the street from an entrance to the park that goes along the river.
Oh my goodness!!! The food is amazing. A 10/10. The mild BBQ sauce is amazing. We had the 3 meat platter with 2 sides and 2 rolls. If you like potato salad, get that. The dill puts it over the top. Friendly staff and the food was prepped very fast.

I had the rib dinner plate, and the ribs were okay but the sides were very underwhelming. Awful customer service and food is way overpriced for what you get. The Mac n cheese tasted like velveeta, and it came with 2 cold store bought rolls rapped in some tin foil. Coleslaw was okay, but nothing special. Overall the customer service was not friendly, and not welcoming with very little enthusiasm. I would recommend finding a different bbq joint if you’re looking for a friendly small business to support.

Highly recommend! The ribs fall off the bone, the chicken is the perfect amount of smokey and the sweet sauce is out of this world. Staff could not have been nicer. Very cute place perfect for small groups. For sure some of the best ribs I’ve ever had!
Out of everything but ribs. Ribs were ok, but side were awful. Pretty sure the cole slaw was fermented and the green beans smelled like sewage. Baked beans and mac n cheese were at least saving our dinner.

Avoid this place at all costs, I received molded buns with my so-called brisket plate that was roast beef with no smoke flavor.

As a Memphian, this was great BBQ! Amazing bark and smoke on our ribs. Good size meat portions, sides were a little small and the rolls were run-of-the-mill. But I’ll be thinking of those ribs! Weather nice? They have some picnic tables outside.
Parking: There are a handful of spots but you can get to-go or eat in.
