Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies

They have fish! And lizards now.

As someone who has owned several tanks this place was pretty incredible. The variety of fish and displays will not disappoint, sharks, jellyfish, seahorses and even penguins. I felt that the mermaid show was aimed at young children and wasn't worth waiting around for but still something to see with paid admission. I had a good time, just be sure to use the coupon in the pamplets available around town.

Had a wonderful time

I witnessed the mistreatment of the penguins, and my children and I left immediately because I refuse to expose them to such an environment. I will not be returning and am actively pursuing a refund. It's distressing to consider the fate of these animals behind closed doors.

Awesome aquarium. Probably one of the best out there!

Fun place to go but at $42.00 per person and the smell of the water in there, it's not worth it for me. I've been there a couple times before and never noticed that smell.

An Awe-Inspiring Experience at the Aquarium!
I’ve always been fascinated by the ocean and its creatures, and this aquarium only deepened that love! Our family had an amazing time exploring all the unique and charming animals. It was such a peaceful and exciting experience all at once. If you're into marine life or just love seeing something new, this is a must-visit!

Wonderful place to visit.

Not a bad way to spend half your day.

This place was incredible! We stayed in Gatlinburg and this could easily have been a half day event on its own. I have a 3 year old and an 8 month old and this aquarium left them captivated! It’s absolutely massive!! The conveyor through the underwater tunnel was very unique. It’s pricey… and there are add ons. We didn’t do any of that. Just a simple walk through on our own experience was plenty. Definitely recommend.

Very fascinating place with lots of variety! Great place for families!

Do NOT do the glass bottom boat addition for your tickets unless you have plenty of time to meander to the entrance for this with LESS than stellar directions. Little Missy Brunette with glasses was rude about us missing our scheduled time. Pissed off the people behind us too for the same damn reason. We tried explaining the directions we were given delayed us; but she was lacking on social graces. Ripley's needs to know this had a real impact on our visit. Asked for a refund & only 1 employee apologized (and she wasn't at guest services). Try some signs or explaining to ticket sellers & checkers that better directions need to be provided. Very frustrating. Would not recommend this add-on. Congrats on disappointing someone in our party with special needs. Please work on training employees to be more understanding & able to provide better directions.
