didn't enjoy my time here, and now that I see how rudely the manager responds to people leaving reviews i will definitely not go back.

Would have just gone to Dick's if I wanted to be berated. Definitely come in here if you want to deal with the old hag's racist politics. Could be an awesome bar, great location, but damn...we just wanted to relax. Regardless of politics. Just leave it out of the bar, damn!!!!

This is mine and my wife’s favorite place in the Smokies. People search most of their lives for a bar with the vibes The Salty Bear yields and never find it. The owners treated us like family and everyone who seems to come in there becomes friends just because it’s such a great atmosphere. If you like oysters, do not skip them here because you won’t be disappointed. Great food, great drinks, great people, great prime country music (if you don’t like that I feel sorry for you). We’re from Nashville and I’ve seen a lot of great bars in my time but this place is on my Mt Rushmore of places to get a cold beer.

Cool local spot. Don't bother coming if you're up Biden's butt lol.

First of all I am a black man, I have a white girlfriend which we have been together for years. We came to Gatlinburg for a wrestling tournament and decided to go to a bar by the hotel. We decided to go to Salty Bar and I immediate felt tension. I have been open minded and never cared who was the president but she made it apparent to me that Trump was our new president which I am OK with. Also, whenever I asked her a question she made it seem like I was disrespectful and she made me feel like she was imperial which was not the case. I totally felt disrespected and the guys who hang out there are not open minded which I am OK with but they are not respectful. THIS IS A DISRESPECTFUL BAR FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR.

Just came here and they were extremely rude from the moment we walked in , extremely overpriced drinks . I’m from a big tourist town and these drinks are insanely expensive . i would assume the bartender was the owner , but she was so nasty and so rude . I’m not sure how she has customers treating people the way she does . Don’t recommend going here at all . Trash place overall .

My husband and I visit this cozy little bar a couple times a year when we’re in the Smokies. We actually make a point to stay somewhere that’s within walking distance of the Salty Bear every time we go. The Mich Ultra is always ice cold and this past weekend the owner made me a killer Amaretto Sour (or 3). We love sitting and conversing with her. I don’t get all the mean and rude reviews because she’s always been very nice to us. She tells it like it is and has her own rules so maybe if she’s rude to customers it’s because they’re rude to her?? Just a thought. Anyway we love it and always look forward to going!

We went there for the first time with our service dog that was in a stroller. First told no children then they do not allow service dogs. Told us go to the restaurant across from them. Sad..

Execrable service, TO FLEE. Disgusting glass, very high price, and a request for an identity document worthy of the former USSR,
