Sat at the bar. Had excellent service from two of the most talented and hardworking bartenders I have ever seen. Salad bar is amazing, piled a plate high. Salad bar featured hard boiled eggs, white and wheat croutons what attention to detail. Had a very good steak and chocolate ice cream cake. This is the premier place for dinner in Gatlinburg. Genuinely enjoyed the experience, excellent food, made great conversation with people and most of all it was appropriately priced. No dress code but I would describe as a more upscale atmosphere, keep it that way and dress up a bit.

We had reservations and was seated immediately upon arrival. You start with the amazing salad bar and then they cut the steak at your table. Everything we had was amazing, absolutely delicious. Our service and atmosphere was top notch and I can't wait to go back

Right to the point - ordered the "Regular cut" prime rib - when it arrived it was not only the thinnest prime rib I've ever had, it was one of the thinnest pieces of beef I've ever had. It looked like something you would get at a AYCE "steak house". It was really disappointing for it's price. The salad bar was great, the service was great, just the quality of the prime rib wasn't. Too many other options in the area, so doubtful we'll be back.

My wife and I went to the Peddler on 12/8/25 and had dinner in the bar area. Our waiter was spot on with our group of four salads were excellent now for the disappointing part. Our steaks came out of the kitchen what I thought was way the fast for them not have been cooked ahead of time, my ribeye had no seasoning at all and had cheap look and my wife said the same for her filet. So I was wondering is there a different menu than for the dining room? VERY DISAPPOINTED

The food was really good and the service was excellent.
The price of the steak is way to high. The 12 ounce steaks are $45 and $1/once after that. I ordered vegetables with my steak and it turns out that vegetables just means green beans and they were rubbery and way oversalted, i couldn't even eat them. The steak peddler comes out and asks which you prefer and size. My wife and I both ordered 12oz ribeye. Then the peddler comes out and says he cut mine at 13oz instead of 12 and asks if I care to pay the extra $5 for the 1 extra once. I wasn't really ok with it but I said that's fine just to not be a bother. They never said if my wife's was exactly 12oz. What if hers was 10 or 11, are they gonna take $5 off of hers? It's kinda being knit picking but for a $50 steak I expect it to go both ways. At the prices you're paying I wouldn't expect to have to make my own salad at a open salad bar with others coughing and sneezing all over the place. I believe you are paying for a tourist attraction more then you are the food. People hype it up because it's expensive and since it's expensive it should be spectacular but it's not. Save yourself the time and money and just go to Texas Roadhouse.

It had been a few years since my family and I visited The Peddler, and overall it did not disappoint. If your party is larger than four, I highly recommend making reservations—the place is consistently popular for a reason.

The staff were very attentive, and the bar drinks were absolutely on point. The salad bar remains one of the best features of the restaurant: fresh, well-stocked, and filled with all the classic toppings you actually want. Honestly, it could be a full meal by itself (and is available as one for $20).

I ordered the regular cut prime rib ($36). Buyer beware: it’s only a 9 oz portion—something not listed on the menu and not mentioned by the steak peddler. The cut was paper-thin and served only at medium-rare or more, which is disappointing if you prefer rare like I do. The flavor, however, was solid. If you’re going for prime rib, I would recommend skipping the regular cut and opting for the king cut ($45) instead.

We finished with the blonde brownie and strawberry shortcake, both of which were fantastic and the perfect ending to the meal.

I highly recommend The Peddler overall. It’s not cheap, but you truly get what you pay for. Our bill for two adults and two teenagers came to around $260 with tip.

Made a reservation 1 week prior to coming which was very easy to do. Came up on Friday December 5th 1 hour prior to make sure we were on time. Arrived to find out that the parade was 1 hour from starting. No big deal traffic wasn’t as bad as we thought it could be. Went to the PEDDLERS PARKING LOT only to find it’s full of people NOT eating at the peddler. The reason for such a low star is because they (the peddler staff or owners) knew the parade was today! They could have had someone in the parking lot making sure people that were parking were there to eat and not take up the space. Waist of our time!! We left and went somewhere else!

I know I'm going to anger some folks with this review, but here goes.

It was ok. The service was outstanding. Our waitress was completely attentive and on point. The atmosphere is nice. But, the food was just ok. To be quite honest, I've had a better steak and potato at Longhorn. And when your bill is almost $300 for 3 people with no alcohol, that shouldn't be the case. People swear by this place, but I probably won't be back, it's just not worth it. The baked brie appetizer was very good, so if you insist on going, get that.

Update: If you read the response below, they don't seem too broken up about the review. Went down to 1 star from 2 as a result.

Not sure why this restaurant is so far down the list. TripAdvisor has a weird way of rating that I’m not understanding. Service here is great. Salad bar is fresh and plentiful. Steaks are cooked excellent. Service is great. Drinks are good as well. Make sure you make reservations.
