We are in Gatlinburg for the week and was walking to another attraction when we stumbled upon Waffle de Lys. I had heard NUMEROUS good things, so we decided to give it a try. The guy who took care of us was super amazing! He explained everything to us and treated us with such kindness! Highly recommend!

Despite the large line and an even larger group of people waiting, the two young ladies working behind the counter remained focused, crafting each drink and sundae with care and precision. Every creation looked as beautiful as the pictures on their menu, which is no small feat!
We ordered hot apple ciders and a waffle topped with ice cream, caramel, bananas, and whipped cream. I can honestly say it was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had—whether in this city, another country, or even another continent.
We loved it so much that we had to return the next day for another sundae! This time, we were greeted by the owner, who was working alongside what I believe was her son. They kindly asked us to wait a moment before taking our order, and then the young man stepped up and explained what makes their waffles so unique. Little did he know, we were already hooked! His pride and enthusiasm were infectious, and honestly, adorable.
As we waited, we had the chance to chat with the owner while she made our treats, and she was just as delightful as her creations. It’s clear that this business is a true labor of love.

Best thing I’ve eaten in 2024, seriously! We had the crunchy waffle (but added strawberries instead of bananas) and it was heavenly. The caramel was made from scratch and the sample of it is what sold us. Also got a large hot chocolate, which was so much more decadent than a typical hot chocolate. What a treat! The owner was incredibly nice too. We just got back from France & I can tell you this waffle was much better than the ones at the Eiffel Tower & in Tuilleries. Magnifique! Highly recommend.

this is the BEST belgian waffle i've literally ever had omg. and the son of the owner has the cutest voice! he screams "do you want to try a free sample?!" 😂 if the line is long, i promise it's WORTH THE WAIT!
The drinks tasted really bland and the lemon was extremely sour. The “large” looked more like a small; and we were charged for a large. The prices are so expensive and the drinks were a disappointment. The waffle was pretty good but it was so small. Wouldn’t recommend.

Food is incredible! The service in our experience was not. Hot chocolate machine wasn't working. There's a processing fee for using a card that wasn't disclosed. It's not a sit down restaurant, but a window you purchase and pick up from. Food is fantastic though.
