My meat was extremely dry. I had to throw $30 worth of food away!
Best sushi in town

⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 Overall
Urban Fusion is conveniently located—nestled in a shopping center with a Daiso, a gym, a small pharmacy, and several other small shops. I’ve been here many times before. I appreciate that they can accommodate groups easily, and the menu has a wide variety of options: hibachi, Japanese, Thai, Korean, etc.
Service – ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5) 🤝
The service has always been friendly, but not particularly knowledgeable or attentive. Our server only seemed familiar with a few menu items—mainly hibachi and fried rice—and hadn’t tried most of the rolls. We never received water refills, and when I decided the Pad Kee Mow really wasn’t hitting the spot and wanted to add something else to my order, it was difficult to get our server’s attention. We eventually had to ask a different server (who was very kind) to help flag down our assigned one.
Around 8 PM—an hour before closing—they began turning off lights without saying anything, which unintentionally made the atmosphere feel rushed.
Ambiance – ⭐⭐½ (2.5/5) 🥶
The temperature inside was genuinely uncomfortable. We were first seated at the front of the restaurant with my back facing the wall, and there was a clear cold draft coming through. It was 32°F outside, and honestly it didn’t feel that much warmer inside.
We moved to the center of the restaurant hoping to escape the draft, but it was only marginally better. I was layered in a long-sleeve top, a Patagonia jacket, and a scarf, and by the end of the night I had my scarf wrapped around my ears and head just to stay warm. Definitely not the most comfortable dining experience.
Food – ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5) 🍽️
I want to note: I am someone who dines out for dishes I can’t easily make at home, so take my perspective with a grain of salt. My expectations lean toward depth of flavor, layered seasoning, and components I don’t always have in my own kitchen.
I am a huge Pad Kee Mow fan and order it almost everywhere I travel. Traditionally, it’s made with wide, soft, chewy rice noodles that soak up the spices and deliver that “flavor bomb” profile I love.
Here, the Pad Kee Mow was unfortunately the opposite:
Thin noodles instead of the wide, soft traditional ones
Hard texture
One-dimensional flavor
Off coloring
Overall, I’d rate it half a grade below a good microwave dinner, and half a grade above economy airplane food
The curry is palatable but watery and small in portion, and the Pad Thai is typical Americanized Pad Thai—decent, just nothing that stands out.
The sushi I ordered—the Ninja Roll—was just okay. It was supposed to contain tuna, salmon, and eel, but it was smothered in so much sauce that I couldn’t identify most of what was underneath. I think I only clearly saw tuna.
I do want to note that the family of five seated next to us (with three young kids) looked like they had a perfectly decent experience. They ordered a variety of sushi and vegetarian dishes and were in and out in under an hour. For diners ordering the more straightforward items—hibachi, fried rice, simple rolls—this place seems to be a solid choice.
Additional Notes – 🍸
One plus worth highlighting: they seem to have a fairly well-stocked bar. We didn’t drink during this visit, but that could be an appealing feature for some guests.
Final Thoughts 💬
We’ve never had rude service here—everyone has always been friendly and accommodating—but some menu items are hits while others are misses. The restaurant can get very cold on winter nights, so bring a jacket if you decide to dine here during colder weather.

A nice Japanese and Thai restaurant!
We enjoyed Pad Thai & Drunken noodles along side crispy vegetable fries! The ambience was good and the portions were pretty huge.
Good vegetarian choices available!

We went there on a Saturday evening and could get the booking an hour ago. The ambience was good and the service nice. We ordered Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles. The food was good and portions were pretty huge. As I had to take care of toddlers, carried Pad Thai home and enjoyed!

Gave me food poisoning and refunded me 13 bucks on a 50 dollar meal. Lame, don’t get the chicken fried rice if you want to able to consume anything edible for a day.

Restaurantji Recommends
This used to be my husband and my go-to place. The food was excellent, and the prices are reasonable in today's economy. We've recommended it to several people and frequented it weekly. The food quality during the past handful of visits, however, has been mediocre to say the least. The quality has increasingly gone downhill. It's disappointing as it is the closest location to us, but regardless, we're going to try out the Olive Branch location next time and hope for the results we're used to. We will try the Germantown location again in the future in hopes that the previous high quality will return. For now, we're onto the next one.

We had high hopes for this restaurant, man were we disappointed. The rolls were good but that’s where it stops. The waitress was one of the worst I ever had, never return to table to check on anything. I didn’t even receive the appetizer I ordered then it had the never to be on bill. I told her I never received it she said oh well I guess you didn’t. In my opinion the service is a big part of the enjoyment of a meal. Do better!!!

Chicken hibachi was okay. The green curry was disappointing and so was the pad Thai. Do not recommend and would not return.

The food here is delicious. Never off beat and the service is fast and efficient. I've been 3 times now and it has become my go-to for a nice, budget friendly outing.

Expansive menu with great service! I was pleased with the portion size and spice level of my yellow curry. I also enjoyed the clear soup. I look forward to returning and trying the sushi next time.
