We found this place on Google while looking for a place to eat that we’d never been and are so glad we did. Everything we had was fresh, delicious, and homemade, but standouts were the fresh salad, homemade ranch, and yummy special side veggie casserole. It is well worth the drive and will be added to our list of spots to visit again. We highly recommend. You won’t regret giving this place a try.
5 STARS for the NEW Gathering Place Cafe’s food is as good as or better than what we have grown to expect. What we found better was: furniture reconfigured to provide more space for intimate dining, new floors that help mute the grating noise level from before, considerably larger portions, more servers resulting in noticeably better attention to customers’ needs, and safe sidewalks and repairs to the driveway. Gathering Place Cafe is a friendly restaurant with great service and awesome food at unbeatable prices. They offer a special area for larger groups and the staff is attentive and fun. The BLT and fries are good, with hot fries and a generous good bar. The fried green tomatoes are a must-try and are described as the best ever eaten. The homemade onion rings, Italian Sub, sweet potato casserole, breaded shrimp, potatoes with onions, slaw, and roll are all good. The place is very clean and has a warm, welcoming environment with perfectly prepared comfort food. Parking is convenient, shared with a hardware store. It is a cash-only place, but there’s an ATM next door if needed. This amazing spot offers home cooking that rivals any restaurant.
