Second time we have been inside this place. Actually got a table this time but after sitting with the menu for almost 20 mins with no waitress interaction but watched tables around us get seated, drink orders and food orders taken, we left. Hostess came over after 15 mins and asked if our server had been over and we said NO, she said she would go retrieve someone so we waited another 5 then bailed. No excuse to have to wait that long. Not crowded at all. Bad service, would not recommend unless you have plenty of time to sit and stare at the lake. Just drive the 20 mins to Elizabethton for plenty of restaurants with better service, can't speak of the food can't seem to ever get any

The view, oh my, the view. What an amazing dinner, steak was tasty but needed tad more seasoning imo. Seafood was extremely well cooked, grewt flavor. Im a dark beer guy, had this oatmeal stout which was very good. The tops thoufh was our waitress, such a delightful young lady and very friendly. Truly was awesome dinner.

Food was good and the view is outstanding. Whoever the woman was that answered the phone was extremely rude. It felt like it an inconvenience that I called. She was rude and hateful. Here’s a tip: LEARN CUSTOMER SERVICE! You won’t get anywhere in life treating people poorly.

When I went this past weekend we were seated, given menus...THATS IT! Sad thing is is was middle of the afternoon, and there were only three other families in there to eat. I counted at least four waiters/waitress on duty. Three were on their phones, and one was just watching another family eat. After about twenty minutes of waiting, and not one server coming over me and my family left. Yes the view of Lake Watuga is great, BUT that is the only thing the restaurant has going for it.

My family has dined at this restaurant many times over the years and still enjoy it. We especially like their burger deals and the she-crab bisque. The hours are somewhat limited so you have to plan when to visit and the restaurant could use a little touch-up and updating on its interior and details. Other than that thoroughly enjoyable.

My family was celebrating my birthday and we drove to watauga to eat and hoped to rent a boat for the afternoon. The boat didn't happen however we had some good food at the Captains Table. we each ordered something different and shared a bite with someone else. We all enjoyed everything and intend to return.

Food was good. Waitress was friendly and efficient. The view of Watauga Lake was fantastic from our table. They also have a covered outside dining area.
Everything was Delicious! We had the Oyster Rockefeller, Lobster Bisque and Ceasar Salad. The view of the lake was Gorgeous!

Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. We were told there were no reservations, and that seating was offered on a first come, first serve basis. So we arrived a few minutes after 6 pm and added our name to the list, for a party of 10. Two other parties of 9 and 10 people each arrived after us. Both of those other large parties were sat before us. Finally, after waiting an exceptionally long time, we offered to split our party up so we could at least start the process. Once we sat down, it took over nearly two hours for our food to be served. We literally did not get our meals served to us until almost 9:00 pm. Our server was very nice and she apologized profusely. We do not recommend Captain's Table.

our service was poor. our food had no flavor. what wasn't over cooked was under cooked. I ordered green fried tomatoes and received Yello/orange tomatoes. they also served us burnt hush puppies and I don't mean well done they were black. noting was to expectations I would never recommend this restaurant. normally I will give a restaurant 3 tries before I write it off but this was and will be my first and last visit.

The food was good. We had a large group that got there when they opened and we were 2 1/2 hours eating lunch. We didn't mind cuz a heavy rain storm went through while we were eating and we were on motorcycles. State was friendly. Just like everyone, they are under staffed.
