Ribs were average Cornbread was overcooked and hard with blackened edges No butter or honey for cornbread. Just synthetic spread Spicy mustard slaw was way to vinegary Potato salad was pretty gummy and tasteless despite slivers of bacon in it.

They must have been super busy at lunch. I heard the lunch crowd wiped out all the stock of onion rings. I really wanted to try those rings and that Bbq man-handler burger topped with onion ring. The remaining smoked ribs for the evening crowd is delicious. The fried pickles were excellent. Catch ya next time on the onion rings and bbq man-handler burger, Sweeney !👍🏻

This place seriously hits the spot. The wings? Next level — crispy, saucy, and packed with flavor. I could’ve eaten a dozen more. The nachos were stacked and super tasty, with just the right amount of everything (none of that sad chip-only layer at the bottom).
Also, shoutout to the bar staff — they were awesome. Super friendly, quick with drinks, and just cool to hang with. The vibe in the bar area is chill and fun, perfect for grabbing a bite, having a few drinks, and catching up with friends.

Sweeney’s Bar-B-Q is a hidden gem in Harrison, TN that delivers big on flavor and hospitality. From the moment you walk in, the smoky aroma hits you in the best way possible—you just know you’re in for something special.
I ordered the pulled pork plate with baked beans and coleslaw, and every bite was perfection. The meat was tender and juicy with just the right amount of bark, and the house-made sauce was the perfect balance of tangy and sweet. You can tell everything is made with care, love, and tradition.
The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. It’s the kind of place where they remember your name and treat you like family. They made sure we were taken care of!
If you’re anywhere near the Chattanooga area, make the drive to Sweeney’s—you won’t regret it. This place isn’t just a meal, it’s a Southern BBQ experience you’ll want to come back to again and again.

Me and my mom can split almost any of the lunch items they are such large portions. The loaded chicken salad is only $8 and the burger with french fries is $7. And we don't eat wings, but another table ordered them and they looked and smelt amazing going by, 8 wings for $6 is a great deal! This is such a small family run diner that you can feel the authenticity of it's history. You can tell which servers have experience and those that are still trying to learn and grow but they are all just so welcoming. I think they've been around for about 60 or so years and they sponsor the local ball teams which also feels like our money is going back to the community. Thank you Sweeney's!!

Really gross OLD food and poor service. Restaurant is also filthy. Look at the air vents!! Worst food we have ever been served and then charged a crazy amount for. Avoid at all costs.

Honestly the food was DISGUSTING. Take a look at the air vents…this place is so disgusting. I don’t think anything in that place has ever been disinfected in its history. Wish more than anything we had listened to the others who said not to come. They served us old nasty food that was clearly not made at home. The servers are teenagers wearing flip flops and pajama pants. Cook had long beard and long greasy ponytail….no hair net. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! Service sucks (had to find our server for everything we needed and every time she was leaning on the front counter scrolling on her phone). This place sucks and now I see why everyone tells you to avoid it. Drinks don’t even have lids. We cannot say enough bad things about this place. Avoid it. Not to mention our DISGUSTING and cheap meal was $50 for two adults!!! run run run run run run!!!!
