I was there having dinner with a close friend on 5/28/25. It said on the website they closed at 10:00pm. At 9:30 they turned up the lights, and started playing heavy metal music loudly and sporadically. Turning it up, then turning it down, and blasting it. Like they wanted to interrupt conversation by the patrons that were still there. Then when the bartender came over to our table she said “can I get your dishes”, we said “sure”. My friend asked for water, and the worker said rudely, “we are closed”, turned and walked off. Extremely unprofessional.

Edit has been a favorite since the beginning—effortlessly stylish, well-curated, and distinct. A perfect spot to round out date night, offering craft cocktails and a tapas-style menu designed for unwinding without the formality of a full dinner. A thoughtful addition to the local scene.

Change is inevitable, but this shift feels like a misstep. Expanding to a full dinner menu—steak, salmon, and more—has altered the essence of Edit. Without a full kitchen, substantial dishes are now prepared behind the bar, and the lack of ventilation causes smoke to linger, clinging to clothes and irritating eyes. What was once a refined retreat now feels unfocused, with longer wait times and a diminished ability to truly relax.

Through it all, the staff remains the heart of Edit—gracious, hardworking, and consistently excellent. They are doing their best, but the shift has stretched the service thin, making it harder to maintain the intimacy we once cherished.

Edit was special because it embraced its identity: a cocktail lounge with elevated small plates, offering something distinct from Hendersonville’s full-service restaurants. That uniqueness was its strength, and we hope the team sees the value in what made Edit shine.

Hopefully, this is temporary—perhaps just an experiment? What Edit had before worked beautifully. This new direction feels like a detour from what made Edit remarkable.

EDIT used to be my self-proclaimed favorite restaurant in Hendersonville. I had been going here about once a month for years. Loved the tiki vibes, rum cocktails, and unique tapas.

Recently they have gotten rid of everything that I adored and loved about the place. They no longer serve the fun small plates, they got rid of ANY rum tiki inspired drinks, and they have replaced it all with a extremely limited, boring, and overpriced menu.

If this is the way things are here from now on, i'm out.

So we went here on a Saturday night and really liked the atmosphere, that's probably the top feature it's just relaxing. As far as the staff , everyone was nice but when we asked questions to the servers about the menu it seemed as if they had never been asked questions before because there was a hesitation in answering and a look of confusion at first. We looked at the menu and at of the 3 entre meat options , 1 (sirloin) had run out and neither of the others came with any sides which you had to order separately and their sides were very limited and lacking diversity and didn't exactly pair well with the 3 meat options. There was NO veggie options for sides and we had to make a special request for the salad which had no lettuce and there was option to add lettuce which is a first for me at any restaurant. Basically what you see is what you get and there really isn't any accommodating much and if you have an allergy and are looking for options this might not be the best place to go and eat. I'm sure they coffee and drink options are probably good so maybe I would suggest coming back if you're just meeting someone for coffee or don't mind a very very limited menu. At the end of the night the salad we asked to be custom which was just spinach and kale , we got charged a full $14 for the price of the salad on the menu not what we had asked so we had to request for an adjustment because paying $14 for a palm of kale and spinach was outrageous which thankfully they adjusted that for us. Once again, might be a better place for drinks and hanging out than a dinner night out. Also a bit pricey , but I'll just blame that on inflation.

We’ve been to Edit twice now. Our first experience in February of 2025 was wonderful. The food was so unique and we had wine, cocktails, and mocktails. We were so exited to go back.

We went back in May of 2025 and found that the menu had completely changed. The menu went from exciting and unique to basic and even boring. The salmon was fine, but bland and our sides were cold (frites) and overcooked (pasta.) Everything felt overpriced. The atmosphere was still great, but our service was just ok as we had two servers wait on us, and one wasn’t very knowledgeable about the menu.

Another strange thing is that we kept seeing the tables around us receive dishes that weren’t on the menu. The table next to us got nachos, which definitely weren’t on our menu and weren’t stated in the specials when we asked our server.

I hope to see them return to a menu with more unique options! Until then, I think Edit will be a skip for us.

Aleia, Kay, and Alora are THE best! Extremely welcoming and knowledgeable of drink options based on my mood. Great vibe and overall environment. I highly recommend Edit if you’re looking for a fun hangout with great drink options.

First the pros: excellent atmosphere and ambience. Whoever designed the decor did a great job.

Mid: they only serve steak medium rare, which is kind of odd. But also, it was almost medium, so maybe that's for the best. All the the items all a la carte, so $30 for a 10oz sirlion and another $6 for the fries. They add the liquor tax separately, so add 15% to any drink you order. My drink was $14 + $2.10 tax. I'm not mad about it, but it's something to keep in mind. I got a brown butter and banana old fashioned. The brown butter was good but it had no essence of banana at all. Instead, they added an orange twist, which is fine (it's an old fashioned) but clashed with the theme of the drink. It was good otherwise. Service was very slow. The server was new so i cut him some slack but while we were there not one but TWO tables got up and left before anyone ever went to their table. My kale salad was good but too heavy on the pecorino.

The cons: the food wasn't good enough to warrant the prices. The steak and fries were decent but you could have obtained them at texas roadhouse for half the price. I was going to get a slice of cheesecake but everything took so long i decided to forego it. My SO ordered unsweet tea and was brought lightly sweetened tea. It was actually good, but not what he ordered. I ordered the bucatini pasta. It was, for lack of a better word, terrible. Undercooked (not al dente, just hard), dry, clumpy. I'm Italian and I know I can be critical, but yikes. You couldn't even separate it with your fork. If you tried to pick up a bit to eat, the whole plate came with it in a giant clump. I sent it back. The server said it was fried. What?! Surely not. But maybe it was. Who even knows as terrible as it was. Bucatini is a hollow pasta meant to be used with sauces because the hollow core allows it to be coated on both the inside and outside. To serve it so dry and undercooked is a travesty.

Anywho, we won't be back.

I was very disappointed with how long it took to get drinks. Took 30 minutes to get drinks for 5 people. We should have stayed at the restaurant we were at prior.

Edit is easily the best cocktail bar in Hendersonville. Incredible drinks, food, and atmosphere. Specifically the bartenders Kay and Alora are incredible! Always a good time and will always choose Edit over any other cocktail bar in the area.

Love coming here for half-priced wine, but the highlight is fun convos with Kay and Alora’s expert advice on a good wine choice. Definitely my spot on Wednesday nights!

These guys went out of their way to make us comfortable. Nice place.

Great place for drinks. Only complaint is the whole place smelled so strong of Brussel sprouts . It was overwhelming. We saw a group of people walk in and leave due to the smell. Take the Brussel sprouts off the menu and it’s a perfect place

A true gem! Edit offers a high quality and expertly designed craft cocktail program that rivals any cocktail lounge in Nashville. The decor and delicious small plates add to this oasis and they occasionally host great cocktail and wine classes, too. From date nights to ladies night and even just popping in for a glass of wine before a movie, Edit is easily my favorite spot in town.

The food and drinks were really good, I hope they're able to expand the kitchen and menu soon!

I just wanted to shoutout the person who served us, service started out kind of rushed honestly and it wasn't terribly busy so we were a little put off at first but then we realized our waitress was the only one there AND she was cooking the food! She was holding it down great, but I couldn't believe she was there alone. She got us everything we needed and was taking care of literally every guest in there (had to have been at least 15 people in there by the time we left and I can say from experience even just a few tables can be a lot to manage when you're running the whole show alone). This was on 11/21, so huge props to the person who was working that night. Hopefully they can get more staff soon. Everything else was great.
