100% if you want fish come here. the fries are always perfect! the hushpuppies are flavorful! and if you like a little spice definitely get the jalapeño hushpuppies!! and the fish is another level of good! Definitely give them a try if you haven't! you will not be disappointed!

This small family eatery where one can dine in or takeout, is a hidden gem in Hohenwald TN with the best food, (especially the fish, hamburger steak etc and Sheila ‘s hushpuppies and home cooked white beans. So for a great meal served by great folks, try Barbers Place, open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 11:00 am/7:pm. The prices are reasonable and the fish is a staple. Y’all come now?

What a great find. Fish was tender, and the hush puppies are the best. The owner took time to visit with us, knowing we travel in our RV full time and post on our YouTube channel. It is a small place, very neat and clean all family members help out. Keep up the great customer service.

0 stars. No blinds, sun is blinding you. Had to pull a table together ourselves . Kid servers who get irritable when you ask for something. Sat an hour and a half, no food. About 30 minutes without refills. Wasn't busy at the time. Asked for refills and was ignored. Was informed they had ran out of fish and had to prepare more but that was only as we were leaving an hour after ordering. They could have informed us it would be a wait. They filled plenty of to go orders in the time we sat there though so they had fish for them but not their in house customers. No one ever communicated anything or checked on us. $15 for a sampler appetizer that had 3 onion rings. The fried pickles were okay. The rest had no flavor. Could of went a lot smoother if they informed people it will be an hour plus for food and actually refill your drink. There was also something floating in the sweet tea. They also won't allow you to order double fries because they "won't fit on the plate?"

We got the fish and shrimp platter it was absolutely amazing!!! This place is about a 30-45 minute ride from us, but it was well worth the trip. We will definitely be back.

The fish and his puppies are good. The fries were wilty and not so good. My main complaint is the prices are not competitive for value received.. also the fish platters provide only 2 sides. Other restaurants provide fish, fries, beans and slaw hush puppies all for one prices about 20 percent lower.. Additionally they do not have credit card ability. I predict their business will slow and suffer if they do not become competitive.
