Fuji Yama Japanese Steakhouse

I thought the place seemed dirty. You can see where people have sat against the wall in the booths. Food was ok used to be much better. Had to wait on my sushi roll an extended time period. Everyone was done eating before I received it.

Not cooked in soy sauce bland rice steak was tender but not seasoned and no soy in the bag. Vegetables and rice were inedible and it was $28 for the steak hibachi I couldn't eat and was rushed out of there with..

If you order fried rice you better ask for yum yum sauce. Even though it comes with the meal if you dine in apparently it does not if you carry out. This is twice. Don't want to drive another 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back to get it.

I’m really disappointed in this place today.
It’s Mother’s Day, first off. So I went with myself my husband, 2 of our kids and one of their girlfriend. My son was running late so we sat down around 1:45. Got our drinks at 1:45. Left around 2:30. So we were there a good 45 mins.
We ordered. The waiter asked my husband if he wanted fried rice. So of course he says yea. Not knowing it was $10.00 for a BOWL!
Our drinks were never refilled. Everyone’s food came out except mine. I waited nearly 30 mins. Then the rice was AWFULthat my husband got. It was just white rice with what looked like eggs. He didn’t eat it.
So the waiter brings our bill which was split into 2. They added gratuity to both of them. This waiter who forgot my food and never refilled our drinks made off with a $30 tip.
We will never go back there.

Hello! My family and I typically come to Fuji Yama when we want a hibachi meal. We hadn’t been here in awhile because we’ve just been super busy. I came in alone tonight and stood at the front. I was never greeted even though the owner/manager walked past me several times, once she even sat down. A bartender saw me standing and ignored me as well as the young girl which I believe is her granddaughter. I’ve never had a major issue here so I was very stunned. I finally asked her if someone would be taking care of me. She was very unfriendly (the owner/manager, not the young girl). I told her I had been waiting to sit down. She asked if I wanted a table or hibachi. I said hibachi and she said I’d have to wait. I told her no thanks because by this time, I’m really just feeling a type of way especially with her attitude and poor customer service which she can’t deny as I recorded our conversation with my camera down. We won’t be back.

Been lookin for a good hibachi grill around here tried about 6 other places and finally found one. Food was great steak was amazing chicken was delicious. Sushi was fresh and so good. Drinks never ran empty just all around amazing

My husband got a combination hibachi with New York strip steak and lobster. He got 6 tiny pieces of steak, 1 lobster, rice that spread across a fourth of the plate, and barely any veggies for $34.95 plus tax. When he brought it to the attention of the waiter that the little kid with a kids steak hibachi got more steak than him as well as the pieces were bigger. They dismissed him by laughing it off. We will NEVER be back again for less than mediocre hibachi.

This restaurant is not just another hibachi restaurant. The staff are phenomenal and the chef was very interactive. The food was slightly salty for my taste, but otherwise flawless. The price for 6 of us was around $200, but we all ordered full hibachi meals so it could definitely be cheaper. The restaurant has secluded booths for date nights or large hibachi grills for a big group. On a Friday night my family and I didn’t have a wait and were able to be seated immediately. No complaints here!

Absolutely amazing food and the server we have had the past few trips is so very helpful and kind, even showing us alternatives to sushi wraps. Very well worth the trip and money. A+++

They didn't do a show at the hibachi. I basically just watched someone cook my food. No onion volcano, no shrimp throwing, no egg in the hat trick ... Just
$100 for 2 people to eat

Came here with my sisters last night 12/18/2025. Not sure the name of our waiter but he did a great job we joked with him brought everything fast our cook was awesome as well. Made sure we liked everything cooked our food in front of us since we had Habachi dinners. Wait was not long to sit or receive food. 10/10. Will return and this was our first time there might I add.

Best sushi in Jackson. The only sushi bar in Jackson where you can actually sit at the sushi bar. Very friendly and engaging sushi chefs and entire staff. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back.
