The only negative I have is I can’t give more than 5 stars. From start to finish this was a great time. We were waiting and Rex at the bar served us some beers to wait. I gave him a hard time and he rolled with it and the other two female bartenders joined in. Nicki the waitress was great in talking to us about the menu and what we wanted. I have two daughters and the friends we were with had two kids of their own. Someone gave them a hard time being silly playing with some provided games. Turns out he was the owner and he was extremely welcoming of them being there and playing the games. From start to finish an A+ experience. We had to wait around 20 to 30 min. Not sure of the time because we had a beer while the kids played and it wasn’t an inconvenience. As a father who takes his kids everywhere and worries about if they are being a bother, this isn’t the place. They were amazing from start to finish. Thank you MadOx for being an awesome venue with an awesome staff. Except for Rex, he is a nerd, just joking!Kid-friendliness: Above and beyond friendly with our kids.

If there was a way I could assign 10 stars to every category, I would. This spot was where I went to eat on my first date with my future wife. Since they don't take reservations, I called at 5pm and asked if they could try and reserve something for us.When we arrived, the wait staff said they had been hawkishly looking out for someone to open up for us, as they were quite busy that Saturday. Thankfully some seating opened up and they immediately approached us to let us know our spot was ready.I can't remember exactly what we ordered as it was one of the specials. I just know that we both ordered pizza and that my dish had a lovely pesto and was it... goat? feta? Either way, we both could only finish half.Afterwards, we wanted to linger so we asked if we could have some coffee. They normally don't offer, but they apparently wanted to treat us nice, so they fired up their coffee maker next door and made us some Americanos with hazelnut, heavy cream, and sugar. It was so delicious Three months later we called in two coffees to go because we wanted something warm and sweet on our trip to Panther Creek Park. We truly love and cherish this place as they have always been so good to us It helps that the food and coffee is phenomenal to boot! They apparently have great burgers too so that will be next on our list! ?Parking: There's about 8-10 spots out front but those fill up fairly quick. There's also a parking lot in the back. It could do with more lighting back there so try to park to front if you can!

Hamburgers were pretty good but expensive. In the overflow into cafe they should get rid of large 12? seat tables and not sit separate groups together at one table. Its uncomfortable. Kind of odd a dart board in hallway to bathroom right next to people eating at long tables just a few feet away. It is distracting. They need at least one tv in cafe area. They need 2 and four seat tables instead. Move them around if needed. Staff seemed very pleasant. There was a good crowd there and it seemed to overwhelm them. We think they will learn. They handled it in a. calm manner. It is a nice place. Was a good place to watch Vols/Kentucky game. They have a nice setup and we will go back and try out pizza on a Friday.Parking: Parking on street seems best option. On right side heading west. There may be other options but we didn't notice.

Food was freshly prepared and delisioso. Efficient servers, awesome bartender, all which know their brewskis, which is an impressive array of locally crafted beers. Atmosphere is upbeat. Uber clean urban chic decor. Great vibe. Parking across the street, easy peasy.

Maybe was just a bad day but last Friday we ordered two pizzas for pick up. We were told 30 minutes. We arrived to pick up and they forgot to place the order. They told us 15 more minutes. 25 minutes later we got the order. Poor customer service after they made a mistake. Sadly this time the pizza was not good. The crust was very hard and chewy. Very disappointed of the customer service and the food.

Great ambience. Cute little place to have drinks with friends. Pizza was great. They also have outside seating in the back.

So tried a new pizza place at the mad ox tonight, Saturday night. I was disappointed they don’t sell pizza except for Friday hamburgers on Saturday.A pizza place that doesn’t sell pizza all the time. The people there were very nice let me try a sip of beer because they don’t have Coors light .

Arrived at 6:30 pm on a Friday evening. REALLY glad the 4 of us made a reservation. The place is definitely bustling with a younger crowd. Seating capacity is around 50 maybe. Smaller tables with 2-4 chairs and bar seating. There are 2 larger tables seating up to 8. There were a lot of customers standing and socializing. Atmosphere is lively, brightly lit, and a little on the loud side. Kind of a cross between a coffee shop and a pub. Service was very good considering the number of customers in relation to the number of staff. We ordered the Meat Balls appetizer and a margarita pizza. Food is prepared in the basement kitchen. They use a brick oven for the pizza. They use all locally sourced ingredients we were told. The food was EXCELLENT, and reasonably priced. If you are looking for a comfortable dining experience to relax and enjoy a meal with the kids, this might not be the place for you. Looking for a younger, vibing, kinda hipster speakeasy, then this is your spot. Only open Friday & Saturday evenings but I can see myself returning very soon!

We absolutely love the MadOX House! The buffalo chicken dip is the chefs kiss. The service is wonderful and the drinks are great. The only bad thing about it is that it's only open on the weekends. Can't wait to get back to Jeff City and visit the House!

I stopped in here for the first time with my wife. I lived in Jeff City from 2011 to 2022 so I hadn’t been back in a minute. I’ve tried probably every restaurant that’s come in and gone out over and over. This one, I think won’t last long. We had a simple pepperoni pizza and some beers. If you can’t get a pepperoni right away then you are SOL. They are SOL. Sauce was almost like the kind from the store in a jar. Crust was ok and seemed fresh, but was overdone. Just not my vibe. Atmosphere was cool but staff seemed like they were preoccupied. I hope they figure it out and fix the food and service cus Jeff City needs some cool places. Best of luck and hope you guys figure it out!
