Cootie Brown's N. Roan Reviews
Good Service, Love the tamales and the black bean nachos. Everything I’ve tried at Cooties had been spot on good food
Some of the best food and not to mention the most quirkiest of restaurants. The menu is printed on newspaper stock, so fun. It’s a must do in Johnson City. The Key Lime Pie will absolutely make your taste buds sing !!

Went to Cootie Brown's near ETSU. Food has always been great, that is if you get some. Waited 50 min for our order before we left. Place was not busy although that is what the manager said as he smiled and apologized. He did not appear to be overly concerned as we walked out. Waitress would not have won miss personally either. Staff/manager were young and indifferent. Did not see a lot of personality as in the past. Apparently our order was overlooked by the kitchen. Only excuse...read full review

Cootie Brown's N. Roan is a hidden gem located alongside a road in East Tennessee. Despite its unassuming atmosphere, the restaurant serves some of the best Caribbean-inspired and BBQ food in the area. The menu is extensive, offering large portions and fresh ingredients that cater to various tastes. Favorites include the con queso dip and chips, taco salad with black beans, and the Mediterranean salad. Recent visitors have praised dishes like the smoked bologna sandwich, Turkey and Cheddar sandwich, Chicken Italiano, and Buffalo Chicken sandwich. The dessert menu is constantly changing, but the key lime pie and pumpkin pie cheesecake are both must-tries. The service is generally good, with friendly and accommodating staff who create a fun vibe, although it may be slower during peak hours. The restaurant offers patio seating, which is pleasant if one can handle the noise from nearby Speedway. Many enjoy the spiral chips and Jamaican Beef Pies, with the tasty, spicy, and sweet sauce elevating the pies. While some drinks like Modelo beers may be served tepid, overall the experience is enjoyable. The restaurant is a great spot for lunch or dinner, perfect for trying new flavors and sizes, and is likely to become a favorite for many.
