Had an urge for some good menudo, so I decided to try Costa Chica Grill, needless to say it was the worse menudo I’ve had in my entire life. The tripe was hard as rubber and the two tacos filled with hardly any meat. Never again will I eat there again!!!

Bring a big party is a huge place. Is a restaurant and a store. With Evan a carniceria. Butcher for grilling at the back of the store they cut the meat to your liking.

Costa Chica is off the beaten path but not by much. We ate lunch here yesterday after passing it by for MONTHS! Good grief it’s SO far back from the road (nope not too far), it never appears the parking lot is full (better for parking on a rainy day). Sentiments that will keep the crowds down so we can continue to enjoy the BEST DAMNED MEXICAN FOOD in the area. We ate fajitas and gorditas, one steak one carnitas, DELICIOUS. If you’re looking for true authentic delicious Mexican fare RUN to Costa Chica. Just an fyi though if you expect to order your food and have it come to your table seconds later save the trip. Food is prepared to order and comes to your table piping hot. It is also a Mexican market and butcher shop so indulge yourselves in a world of Mexico in Johnson City.

Service was great!! My server had me laughing the whole time and even wrote a scripture on my to go box. Best experience hands down and I will be back when I come for work. Food was good - I got a chicken quesadilla. Queso and chips paired well with the entree.

Ate there today after church the atmosphere was very nice and pleasant our waiter was very nice and very quick to bring our drinks the food was served very quick and very good would highly recommended it and the new remodel was very nice

On January 31st I visited this restaurant for the first time with a friend of mine. Michael greeted us as soon as we walked in. He was also our waiter that night. He was very attentive and respectful. He made our first visit fun, exciting, and memorable. I enjoyed the food and service so much I even made another trip back for dinner the next night with another friend. The food is absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be frequenting here often and recommending to all of my friends and family.
Michael is overall an amazing waiter and person! 🙏💙🙌

A casual restaurant, the service was extremely friendly and comfortable. As far as the food, it is the absolute best Mexican food I have ever eaten in my life, and I’m not just saying that out of hyperbole. The portions were also, well, extreme. I managed to finish only half of my burrito…and I hadn’t eaten all day, plus I am routinely criticized for my wanton gluttony that makes Homer Simpson look like he’s fasting for Ramadan. It’s been over a month since I ate there and I’m still thinking about it, bemoaning the fact that I live hours away and only chanced upon this place while on a road trip.

Zero stars… Came with my fiancée (who is a woman) for lunch, was greatly disappointed. We were not greeted when we entered, cheese dip came out before our drinks, chips were stale and dip was cold in places. When drinks did arrive, they were the wrong drinks, however we drank them anyway, and had to ask for our refills. We placed our order and three other tables were sat after us, (straight couples in suits and dresses) got their food quickly and was steaming. We asked about our food to which they told us it would be a few more minutes, we only had 2 quesadillas… After a little bit more of waiting and not seeing our waitress, we decided to pay for the dip and our drinks and left. Absolutely the worst experience we have had out to eat. Wont be coming back.
