It was my first time at Diablo's Mexican Bar&Grill. My husband and I were impressed by our waiter Noah. He was very sweet and attentive. The food was very delicious and fresh.
House Margarita is a must have if you are at Diablo's!
Overall our experience was great and we definitely will be going back.

I really don’t like writing negative reviews and I feel bad because the wait staff was super nice and apologetic and this is not a reflection on them, they were wonderful. The restaurant was short staffed and it took about quite awhile to get our drink order and then food. When the food arrived to our table it was mixed reviews. I ordered the taco salad with beef and I was deeply underwhelmed by it. My in-laws ordered chicken tacos and beef fajitas and said they were good. My husband ordered a steak ranchero but they were out so he subbed the steak Mexicana which was more a fajita vibe and he didn’t care for it. Like I said, this is not a reflection on the service, I understand being understaffed, I think we’ve all been in this situation but food just wasn’t anything to write home about sadly.

The food was amazing. The barro Tacos were everything. The drinks were great. I got a Pomegranate Margarita. I've never had one before, but well be have 1 every time now. My server Hailey was amazing. You have to sit in her area. She is on top of everything drinks, food, I didn't have to ask for anything.

Thought we would give this place another try after a rocky experience during the opening week. Much worse than before. Place was nearly empty at 7 pm on a Friday, nobody there to great or seat us so after standing for a few minutes with the bar staff just staring at us, we left. This place must be somebody’s tax write off- they clearly are not interested in running a restaurant. For those interested in starting a downtown JC business, I expect the space will be available for rent in the near future.

Worst god damn place to be. Every one is super aggressive. Bump into someone by accident and they start punching people. I give this place a NEGATIVE 5 stars if I could. Need better security or just need to completely close down. This place is the most HORRID place I’ve ever been to. In the 5 years I’ve been in Johnson city. I have never been in such a hostile environment.

Went here for the first time this evening. This place is definitely a hidden gem that is well worth a try. Prices were extremely reasonable and the portions were large. Nobody in your party of 4 had one complaint. Will be back for sure on the near future.

Only reason for 4 stars in high prices and the walking to location due to lack of parking. Other than that was great food and drinks,we split the birra pizza.

We are still thinking about yesterday's wonderful food, service, and atmosphere at Diablo Bar & Grill in JC! On our walk down to the black olive for fathers day lunch, we ended up stopping at Diablo instead. We had never been or heard of it before and can't believe we have missed out on such a wonderful restaurant for over a year now. 10/10 will be returning for lunch again. I got chimichangas, husband got the biria burrito and neither of us could stop saying how good it was. The table side guacamole was amazing and came in a HUGE bowl and the churros were so warm and sweet. They have claimed the #1 Mexican restaurant for us and I seriously can't wait to go back. The owners have absolutely created a gem!
Side note: They also have late night parties with music if that's something you enjoy. I have never seen an actual wall with top shelf liquor except in movies until yesterday. The LED lighting really compliments the ambience.
Pic of my chimichanga meal for $15

Attempted to visit this location at 8:30pm on 6/2/24 and it was not open although it was reported as open online. No signage up stating the reason for early closure. Looking through the window it appeared that it may be closed for renovations as there were no chairs/tables and it appeared that there was a worker on the floor working on electrical.

I experienced great hospitality from the staff.
So far they have good people working there.

Kid-friendliness: Kids can enter the restaurant too
