We had never been here, but The Down Home was recommended to us a while back. Our party of five stopped in for the first half of an Alexis Wax concert/fundraiser for Erwin. The venue is quaint, but there are plenty of smaller booths and tables for four (we grabbed a spare chair to accommodate us), and a bar selling beer and wine, water is there for free. Food is also available, and everything is posted on their website. The sound was good, we all enjoyed our time, and we look forward to returning when we can stay longer. Definitely recommend The Down Home for live music in Johnson City.
I had a wonderful evening at Down Home listening to The Montvales and the Tillers. It so enjoyable to always have a good seat there and to visit with the performers.

Biased because my husband bartends there sometimes (Jimmy), but absolutely love this place! Great vibes, amazing music, and tasty food. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. Most intimate venue in the area, by far!
