This is a hidden gem of Johnson City! If you are someone who is hungry and looking to feel good about life in general go eat here! The owner is a very lovely and fascinating person who clearly has a passion for what she does. If you enjoy a bright yet calming environment with original art all over you would love to dine here. The infused water is so refreshing, when you try it you will want it again for sure. I had the mango chicken rice and it was amazing. She can adjust the spice level to however you want it to be.The portion is very generous too! Don't skip out on the hand pies either! So flavorful and very satisfying *boom* (iykyk 😁). Don't sleep on this place!

My husband, I and our son got to try Goodoo bowl for the first time, and from the moment we stepped in our experience was amazing. The atmosphere was perfect, I have a hard time in loud places with loud music but this place had such calming music that I could enjoy my family and food without being overwhelmedā¤ļø the friendly staff were amazing and made us feel very welcomed to be there! And then the food, oh my goodness I could go on and on about how good the dishes were! You can tell how much thought and love go into the food and drinks! I can’t wait to take more people so they get to experience the goodness of GooDoo bowl!

My husband found this place thanks to Facebook knowing our love for food. Absolutely delicious food, super good vibes in the space, and staff are sweet and kind. We had the mango chicken rice, cucmber salad, 2 hand pies (beef curry), botanical water, the Goodoo tropical milkshake, and the cowgirl cookie (cookie to go). Everything was amazing, full of flavor, and filled you up (physically and spiritually). We love small, local places like this and will definitely be back and recommend to others!

I was invited by Ada to stop by and check her out. Sausage rolls , meat pies , curry and tea I'm British so how could I resist lol! I was wowed first by the amazing interior of Goodoo Bowl, Ada gave me a tour of her establishment and I could really see the hard work and passion , love I would even say for her place. Then came the food I ordered Sausage rolls, the butter chicken special, boom boom chicken wings , fried plantains, beef curry pies, fresh ginger cookies, and chai tea. While I waited for my food to be prepared Ada let me sample her vegetable pie and a cup of her delicious coffee. From the first bite of that pie I knew I was onto a winner. The flavors took me straight back to my youth straight back to my home town. I nearly teared up (cried) but pulled myself together lol. Upon arriving home with my order I went straight to the sausage roll box another "Madeline" moment, it took me back to my Grandmothers kitchen. The food that Ada cooks is nothing short of phenomenal. The love and the passion and the big flavours are in every bite. We have to support businesses like this in our beloved Johnson city . I urge you to go and show your support for one hell of a legendary chef and person .

I finally had a chance to visit Goodoo Bowl. It is slow food in the best way!Every item is cooked with the best ingredients and loving care. My bookclub had lunch there recently as part of our progressive downtown and local support of JC businesses. We loved everything! As a group we pretty much ordered the entire menu and loved everything! We were all obsessed with the fried rice! I mean, how many ways can you cook fried rice? This was different and amazing, and I still can’t figure out why it was different and delicious! Go to Goodoo Bowl immediately! Take friends! Relax! Enjoy!

Goodoo Bowl truly impresses with its flavorful offerings. The curry hand pies are delicious, featuring perfectly spiced filling and a flaky crust that melts in the mouth. The sausage hand pie is equally satisfying, with rich, savory flavors that stand out. The pumpkin salad adds a refreshing and flavorful contrast to the meal. The dipping sauce complements the dishes beautifully, bursting with unique flavor & freshness. The staff and owner are knowledgeable and welcoming, enhancing the overall experience. A return visit is a must to explore more of what their menu has to offer!
