If you are ever in JC, DO NOT GO HERE. Nothing about this place was Korean. The tacos were awful & left our party questioning if we had been food poisoned. The pictures and reviews were absolutely misleading. With so many other options, just don’t waste your money!

To conclude, it exceeded expectations. I tried fried rice. I wonder if I should try omurice... Anyway, it tasted better than I expected. I just wish the rice had been stir-fried a little more... but I think it would still be too much to order for an American chef... and the quantity was so large that I had to leave half of it. We always have a lot of American food. Anyway, I plan to visit a few more times next time and try other foods.

If you live in JC and you ever find yourself craving Korean food and ask me for recommendations, I would give you two options. 1. Cook your own Korean food at home! (Or find a friend to help you.) 2. Go to a neighboring city (Elizabethton, Knoxville, or Asheville all have some decent options). I want to say a lot, but I will try to keep this concise. I refuse to acknowledge Korean Taco House as an actual Korean restaurant. The food quality seems to get worse each year, and I’m honestly not sure how they are still in business (it's almost hard to believe they also own The Kimchi Market; I love that store). I haven’t been there in about a year, but I decided to give them another try this year since I was craving Gimbap and was too sick to make it myself (my previous experiences haven’t been great either). They barely have what I would call a menu, so imagine my surprise when I received store-bought and warmed-up Gimbap. I placed two orders of gimbaps for pickup, and once I got to my door, I opened it up, and they looked shrunken and sad. The taste was the worst part of my day, as they tasted old and spoiled.I called them to ask about it, and the lady that picked up the phone claimed that they purchased their gimbaps from a company and warm them up for customers. She went on to say that they only hand-roll Gimbap for catered orders. I found this even more ridiculous, especially since gimbap is a staple Korean meal that is supposed to be fresh. You don’t even warm up a gimbap made at home in the microwave. I had to toss them out, especially since I’m already sick and don’t need to get sicker.Needless to say, I will definitely never be going back.

I usually don’t share or post and leave reviews for a restaurant- but this is NOT KOREAN food. I spent almost 40$ for my husband and I for a takeout dinner- and it was the most basic Americanized “Korean” food ever. My ramen didn’t even include the egg or spice like real ramen noodles, my husbands taco, had a BITE of meat that was so tuff it was ridiculous- filled with lettuce, and cheese- literally like you’d get from Taco Bell. I was so so disappointed in this place. The food was editable, but should not be advertised as anything Korean food whatsoever…. :(

They got rid of 99% of their food options (can only wonder why looking at these reviews, people miss it). Now they only serve “bulgolgi”, if you want to call it that.

The prices were so reasonable, we had to get so many different things to try. My three year old devoured almost an entire adult sized portion of pork fried rice. The mandi were flavorful. As was the kimchi pancake and bulgogi. And the radish kimchi was good. It was pretty mild, I imagine, for the American pallette, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

2 years ago I posted this:First time to eat there. The food was unbelievable. So Fresh So Good took me back to when we used to live in Korea in the military. We will definitely be going back.Tonight the food was nothing like it used to be the Taste of Korea is completely vanished the food was extremely greasy so much so I used four dinner napkins to soak up the grease my husband's food was the same. They need to go back to the old menu and the old way of cooking. This used to be one of our favorite places to come to not anymore We will not be going back

I used to really love this place, but I don’t know what happened. Basically their menu has only like 5 or 6 menu items, and there used to be a lot more. For a korean restaurant to only serve bulgogi, tacos, ramen, tteokbokki, egg rolls, and dumplings is a shame to korean food. I hope they become what they used to be.
