So me and the family went. My mom and I both got smoked chicken sandwiches and let me tell you it had not smoke flavor. It wasn't a barbecue smoked sandwich. It was just sliced chicken. I took one bright and couldn't eat it. Mom was the same. I ordered smoked Mac and chesse again just Mac n cheese. Also we got greens and beans. The greens tasted weird I can't place the flavor. My. Mom said the beans were more liquid the beans. And the tea seemed like it set in fridge to long. The girls were nice but if you walk by and there is one bite taken out of the food you should always ask was it not good. 3 girls walked by and didn't mention. So me and my mom's food was around 40 and it was a waste of money. I would not recommend.

Took company to Project BBQ, everyone loved everything!! My husband and I had sampler plate, and was soooo delicious, brisket melted In my mouth, wonderful flavor, pulled pork which is my favorite was so so tender and savory, well seasoned, sausage had a great flavor, i am not a Spicy girl, but my husband devoured it!!! Staff was friendly and attentive! Will definitely be back!!

My partner and I came for lunch on Saturday and it was so empty in there! This is simply unacceptable because the food was nothing short of amazing! I got the pulled pork nachos and my partner got the 2 meat tray w/ brisket, mac n Cheese and corn bread casserole. I had never even tried cornbread casserole before coming there, but we loved ALL of it! They make their queso in house for the nachos and mac n Cheese and it reminds me so much of Hawg n' Dawg's queso? (an old bbq restaurant in Erwin which is now closed) I'll be sending ANYONE who asks me where they can find good BBQ!

My mom dropped her sandwich on the floor and they gave her another sandwich to make up for it. Out of the three times I’ve been here all the food and service has been so wonderful. Thank you Project BBQ.

JC is quickly becoming a destination for world class BBQ and nestled unobtrusively off the side of Roan street near the Okalona exit off interstate 26 is Project Barbecue. The smoke depth was perfect as was the texture and marbling. The sauces are excellent and served on the side so you can flavor to taste. The meat is served unadulterated allowing you set your own experience. Well worth the price the portions are generous. Take the time to visit this jewel of the Appalachians and see for your self that JC is on the map for some of the best barbecue anywhere.
