Hadley, our server, was absolutely phenomenal! We were very inquisitive of the sauces and she brought out some extras for us to try. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and we enjoyed all of our meals - especially the pulled pork and fried okra. Ask for Hadley when you come here!

this place was amazing. our server fasil was absolutely amazing! he told us all about the background of the restaurant and how everything is made in house, except the bread that is made in a home bakery that they support. i got three martinis and still spent under 60$. I had an amazing experience and i have never in my life tasted food so amazing! i recommend this restaurant to everybody!

Use to love to eat here. Last two times I have been disappointed 😞. Overcooked and dry meat which is not something I am use to with this location. Not sure if change of hand in cooks or if it's the time frame we go but very disappointed. I think it's time to move to a smaller chain to get better quality again. Hate that cause when this place first started out it was awesome and we would take family weekend meals to this location tons. NOT the case anymore.

I personally think Southern Craft has some of the best BBQ in the Tri Cities. I dine in Johnson City and Kingsport. Bristol was good on a visit.

I really want to keep liking this place. Unfortunately, my last two visits have been met with lackluster service and underwhelming food. This restaurant used to be consistently good, but it no longer seems to operate with the same level of attention and care it once did.

We got the Tennessee Trinity, with three meats and three sides it was plenty to share with my wife. Had ribs, brisket, turkey, beans, slaw, and handcut fries. Great BBQ and great sauces!

I told my husband that I didn't feel like BBQ, and that I was going to be hard to please going to a new BBQ place. We got seated right away on a Thursday night, and with everything I experienced, I'm looking forward to going back. Our server, Ziggy, was wonderful, and not only gave really great food recommendations, along with recommendations on pairing what with which sauces, and adding blueberry jam to our corn bread (which was Awesome for this girl who didn't like Cornbread until last night) but was also very attentive, and chatted with us throughout... in a good way. We loved the Trinity plate, and got brisket (very tender), turkey (probably the very best turkey I've had in my life) and burnt ends (which were my favorite of the meats). For sides, we got the sweet potato souffle (sweet and creamy without feeling like I'm eating a sugar potato), collared greens (best I've had), and pepper jack grits (very cheesy). It was truly wonderful, and I would absolutely recommend everything we got, and it was awesome the way Ziggy was able to put together a perfect meal with what tastes would best compliment our preferences. Absolutely a 5 star experience!!

Restaurantji Recommends
Would be nice if they would put their phone on the hook. Called multiple times, but busy. So didn't get to try, thanks
Consistently good service and great food! They have a really nice selection of bourbons/whiskies and good bartenders. Bartenders will come to your table and ask questions sometimes to ensure they get it right. It’s not just their smoked meats that are so good either, their sides are terrific! The fried ocra is like my grandmother used to make.
My son and I love the Johnson City location. They have great food and drinks. I've had numerous items on the menu and haven't been disappointed except maybe once in over a year. But what's as good as, or better than the food, that keeps us going back are the servers/bartenders: Isaac, Lindsey, Aubrey and others. They are authentic, attentive and make you feel at home. I recommend this place to everyone I can, not only because they smoke their own meats, make their own sauces, and use locally sourced fresh products but also because of their great service.
Had brisket and burnt ends, not bad but far from great. If you are a BBQ restaurant your BBQ should be extraordinary.

I eat here from time to time. I hate the location but The food is always great. Service could be a little better. Just depends who you get. The last time I called in a to go order I was put on hold forever. I just kept driving that direction . I actually drove all the way to the restaurant still on hold and about the time I pulled in the phone hung up. When I got inside I said I’m the one that was on hold for so long. She apologized and said she had gotten busy doing something else and said she was so sorry. This was my first time calling in an order. Not sure if this is what others experience on to
Go orders or not but I do believe in second chances so I may try it again sometime. Not sure.
