I have been coming here consistently for the last few years, almost once a week. I get the same thing every time. Over the last couple months, their buffalo chicken wrap has become pitiful. For the wrap and the smoothie I usually get used to be $13… Now it is $15 and the wrap is a lot smaller than it used to be. I am really disappointed. I don’t know that I will go back.
Today’s was about the size of the McDonald’s snack wrap . Lol
Great place!
While I was waiting for my online order “to be made”, I watched the employee handling food make multiple wraps using the same gloves, touching the screen, open the back door to let someone in, and then go right back to making food. Health code violation. Gloves are meant to protect the food not your hands.
I would have never seen this though if they had used the online pick up counter properly. When an employee finally acknowledged me after 5 minutes, she handed me a wrap that had been sitting bagged up behind the counter since I had walked in the door.
This isn’t the first time I have been made to wait for food that was prepared because they didn’t use the pick up cubbies properly. But watching the person making the food using the same gloves over and over while touching all kinds of surfaces was eye opening. If you have allergies or a weak stomach I would avoid this place.
Edit: the management reply to my review seems to deflect the issues of the health code violation: opening an external door wearing gloves that were then used in food preparation. I wasn’t referring to making multiple orders as the violation. If they don’t understand the codes, how can they enforce them?
Came in on a busy Saturday - seemed like they were getting slammed with big group orders. I was fine to wait longer, but we stood around for almost 30 minutes, with no worker even looking up to ask what we needed. They were keeping any orders behind the counter, so the person who I was with who mobiled after me had her smoothies just melted on the counter. Finally got someone’s attention and I politely asked if they were in process or ready (I was fine with honesty, just didn’t know if I should go elsewhere). Poor girl had no idea what to say other than “I’m sorry we’re busy”. She didn’t ask my order name or anything. I asked how I can cancel and get a refund and she looked around and said she didn’t know.
Overall, I know they were slammed, but they really need some leadership helping coordinate people and communicate with the customers. I still have no idea if my order ever got made, I just left and will be calling for the refund when someone has time to talk to me.
bad customer service from maddie good food
Tried it twice to give them the benefit of doubt. My food tasted rancid and convinced it is bc everytime I eat here it makes me sick. Started going to Keva Juice down road (Next to Walgreens) no problems this far. Also this place isn’t healthy it’s all sugar and carbs. Do your research and cancel Tropical Smoothie Cafe.

This location by far is one of the best Tropical Smoothie Cafes I’ve ever been to in my entire life. Two years ago, I went to a Tropical Smoothie Cafe in the Outer Banks in North Carolina and it was disgusting, the service was poor and my smoothie tasted like crap. I see why this location scored 99 on their health inspection, I love the people there, the service is fast and they always greet you when you walk in the door. Their Avocalada and the Island Green Paradise is sooooooo good!!

Love the smoothies here but it’s very inconsistent. There are certain people who make it perfect and that’s why I come back but some days I come to pick it up and it’s not what I ordered. I don’t often complain and on many occasions I just try to drink it but it’s terrible if made wrong and I just throw away a full smoothie and waste $10. This has happened probably 3 times now without me saying anything. I finally sent one back today and the sweet girl remade it but left out the kale and spinach (which is the main reason I get it) she was very nice and seemed new so I just took it so I wasn’t late to work. Please work on consistency and making sure that the people making the smoothies are actually reading the ticket and making it that way instead of just going into autopilot. I order here weekly because my work is close by and would really love to stay a customer but if the inconsistencies aren’t fixed I’ll have to take my business up the road so that I know I’ll have my nutrition for the day in a smoothie that tastes great.

My mom and I enjoyed going here just the other day. The staff was kind and helpful. They even gave us an extra bowl for our salad without us even having to ask because the girl who got our order overheard us talking about sharing the salad. The smoothies and salad were both delicious and hit the spot.

Great smoothies where they use fresh cut veggies and fruit right in front of you, don’t typically use sugar that I’ve seen, and they are decently priced. The reason I don’t pick this as my #1 place is because they use water instead of fruit juice or milk alternatives as liquid and it makes the smoothie less creamy and it easily separates. Otherwise, it’s a great option.
