Absolutely delicious every time! The best gluten free chicken with perfectly crispy breading and I love being able to have onion rings again!

Very disappointed, I used to be a huge fan of VooDoo chicken as I am gluten free and enjoy having delicious options. Upon the kitchen switch the atmosphere and service remained the same, but the food extremely plummeted I ordered fried catfish and tenders. First of all the catfish was mushy almost puré like totally inedible, the tenders were dry and had way too much breading on them. As for our sides we got onion rings and waffle fries, both were extremely undercooked the onion was almost crunchy and the waffle fries were soggy and limp. Definitely not coming back.

Celiacs and gluten sensitives beware!! I experienced the worst glutening of my life at the Kitchen at Little Magic! They claim to take gluten free food very seriously, but I suspect they gave me the full gluten version of the grilled cheese. I don't think it was just a bit of cross contamination. I was puking my guts up all night. I miss Voodoo 😭😭😭.
They also left multiple items out of our order initially and my husband had to go back to get them. The taste of the food is only okay.

Probably not considered bad food, was overpriced, a little black on bottom, and SUPER greasy, which accounts for the overwhelming old grease smell that permeates the place, and subsequently my clothing...not for me, but many like it, so....

I was once a massive fan of voodoo chicken, the food was great, the service was great and the staff was friendly. Since the transition to little magic I have been nothing but profoundly disappointed both times I have gone. Starting with the staff: when I walked in most recently I approached the counter and the staff were talking about how they wanted to quit. Then the girl comes to take my order with a blank depressing look on her face. While waiting for the food, I was discussing with my partner how the place felt like an abandoned amusement park that somehow still had music playing. After my food arrived she said simply here’s your food and walked away, that’s fine I suppose, but shortly after when I went to ask for ranch dressing she scowled and said “I already gave you some, but fine here”. Okay?? I’m your customer I just want some ranch why is that such a problem. But moving on… the food was also a foul shadow of what was once a great chicken tender. The flavor was bland and empty even the ranch couldn’t save it. Not to mention my onion rings crumbled like my dreams of a good meal. To top it all off, the sassy server was walking around vaping and snap chatting. Overall I’m now siting at home depressed, unsatisfied and yearning for voodoo chicken to return and rid us of this wretched imposter. I once got better service at a Wendy’s in Starkville Mississippi where the lady taking my order was literally drinking on the job. It’s a shame that this place kept the good reviews of voodoo chicken it is far below deserving of them.

I went in looking for whole wings because I saw a review that had them. However, they only have party wings. So I got chicken tenders and onion rings and Mac and cheese. I hate to be a tough critic (maybe because I'm from Memphis) but the chicken tenders weren't that good. It could use more savory seasonings and some pieces were kind of burnt. Not sure if that was intended but with the lack of savoriness the burnt taste really stood out. Also, oddly there was some drunk dude who fell face flat on the ground, lost a shoe and his glasses and then went to the kitchen. He came back out but he walked through and was high fiving employees like he knew them then gave them all the middle finger 🤦 craziness.
But the Mac and cheese was on point. Like for real it's good. And the lady with the green hair was really sweet.
I'd go back just for the Mac and cheese.

I hate to say it, but I can’t support the management change and the move from Voodoo to Little Magic.
TLDR: As someone with gluten sensitivities, I think the food is now soulless, bland, overpriced, and not worth recommending.
I’ll try not to be too verbose. I became intolerant to gluten about 8 months ago, but I was a regular customer at Voodoo for at least 2 years, simply because they had delicious food. My friends without diet restrictions loved it too. It especially was a treat for my mom who has celiac, and has far more sensitivity than I do.
I was so willing and open for the management chance, and hoping for the best. I went in with an open mind and was just simply underwhelmed. Before, people came to Little Magic for the bar, and went to Voodoo for the chicken, now (like another review said) we just have gluten free bar food to eat while you’re out.
I would say it’s better than nothing, except that the prices increased by about 20% across the board, and for…what reason?? It’s not like the portions are any different.
I’m willing to give them another shot and try more menu items once they get their feet fully on the ground, but as it stands I can’t recommend the kitchen at Little Magic.
The service was good, but somehow the atmosphere feels… corporate? millennial cheugy in a bad way. “live, laugh, love” if you will. I don’t know the ethnicity of the former ownership, but the food tastes like white people food, and the atmosphere reflects that.
I went to Voodoo because it was better than the fried chicken I could make at home, now I don’t think I have a reason to go.
The icing on the cake is Little Magic has been able to STEAL the reviews from Voodoo since it’s the same location. Riding off of their success is not cool, they might not have had a choice w Google but either way, any review before this past month is NOT ACCURATE.
I hope Voodoo reopens in a new location or comes back.

Came here very frequently when it was still Voodoo Chicken. There's been a shift in ownership / management. Everything that I enjoyed from the old menu is unfortunately not there anymore. The spice for the tenders and the sides I once had are gone. I had the wings and I really wanted something spicy but that isn't available. I understand shifting a restaurant can be difficult so I hope I can come back and they bring back what once had me hooked cause it just taste like quick bar food.

LOVED Voodoo chicken. Extremely disappointed that they’ve closed and are now being taken over by the owners of Little Magic and they’re changing the menu. Like how dare you. I’m not sure if my family and I will ever go back there again. We ate at Voodoo at least once a week. I mean, we were never disappointed. The chicken tenders were amazing and huge, we were obsessed with the mac & cheese bites, along with just about everything else that they had on their menu, especially the large variety of sauce flavors. We have no idea what is being kept on the menu and what is being taken off. There’s no longer an option for online ordering which also sucks pretty bad. Just overall completely disappointed to say the least. I have no idea why they would shut down and let little magic take over like this but I can’t imagine that little magic will continue to bring in the same flourishing business that Voodoo chicken did. And if they really think so, then I personally believe it is a huge mistake to change the menu. Voodoo had a business that they had specifically for that reason. Take away what the people want, you take away the people. Just super sad about this.
Amazing GF selection. The chicken was crispy, tender and juicy. I had the fried pickles and hush puppies, both were delicious. If you need GF this is the place for you.

We were there the last night they were open. The food quality showed it. I can understand why they closed.

My husband and I tried this place for the first time for our anniversary. We wanted something unique but fresh and that’s exactly what we got. We were sooooo pleased with our meals. The food was so delicious, and the service was quick. I got the chicken and waffles with hush puppies and potato wedges. The sauce I added to my chicken was a Korean honey chili and was the perfect addition to my meal. The portions are huge, so we have lots of leftovers (which we always enjoy). 10/10 recommend this place to anyone. We will for sure be coming back!
